I keep a few tins of potato's in my store cupboard for a 'just in case' scenario :) But I do find they keep quite well if taken out of the tin and put in a covered bowl in the fridge. I live alone so often a tin is too much just for me for one day, left overs go nice in soup, stews or even cubed into HM curries

But then if I open a tin of beans I will only eat half and the other half goes in the fridge in a plastic lidded take-away box and keeps pretty well as well

Thanks Jackie, I haven't tried tinned potatoes before but that's a good idea for the leftovers.

Like you I can only stand half a tin of baked beans at a time the rest usually gets frozen.

    Hi,
Spent £18.89 today. £12.84 at pharmacy. Just interested whether people include pills and remedies in groceries or budget under 'other'. Have some regular stuff we have to have.
    Keep warm and safe.

I think this may be one of the reasons my spending has been looking ridiculous for a while - I used to separate these out into an 'other' budget and would take stuff like painkillers / the odd bit of pet food etc (most is bought separately online but treats do get bought at the SM) but have been quite lax about this recently

Must try to remember to take these off!

No spends to add so far - determined to have a low spend month!!
