I got to £50 at Asd@ but I’d forgotten I had them…..I’d bought them earlier in the year 😏I’ll spend them in the New Year for a freezer stock up 👍

    January spends - £587.58
  • Your Christmas sounded lovely milann - I'm so pleased you got to see your family and have a great time with the GKs. 😀
But sad to hear about your friend's burglary - I won't write on an open forum what I think about and what should happen to these scumbags.....🤬
I'm planning on having a good look at my budget going forward in the New Year as there are some things that need to be tweaked since I retired.

I don't think this type of burglary is really about stealing but more about destruction/spoiling things.  The good news is that they are leaving their DNA behind, probably their fingerprints too.
  • Your Christmas sounded lovely Milann :). It's so nice to spend it with family, I can't think of anything better. What a shame about your friend's burglary though.

I'm glad you've got your retirement on ill health sorted finally so that you know where you stand, and hope it won't have too much of an impact on your finances.

SSG I did ask whereabouts your seaside place might be from where I walked along the sea at dds……I gave what I thought was your area a little  wave 👋 😂😂
I do think the burglars at my friends were opportunistic and probably saw the family heading out. I hope Karma pays them a visit 🤬🤬 It’s really spooked my friend and the children ☹️
Well after a grim morning weather wise the sky suddenly brightened so we jumped into the car and drove to a lovely water park and nature reserve not too far away, about a 15 minute drive along the motorway.  There were people about but not too crowded, on the way home we were talking about a dove cote that had been moved from a roundabout several years ago. I thought it had gone to a local park…..turns out it had but i different park to where I’d thought. We drove to see it. The little park it had been moved to is on a road I know well….just up the road from my late mother in laws house and opposite a pub I’ve visited many times, I even went to college with the son of the landlord to this pub. However, I had no idea this little park existed….I just thought it was somebody’s garden. It was more of a garden than a park but was just gorgeous. There are obviously ‘friends of the park’ that keep it nice, it’s split into little garden rooms. How have I managed to miss this little gem - it’s only about a mile from where I grew up 🤔🤔 Now I’ve found it I’ll definitely be visiting again.
Not sure what we will be having for tea. We have plenty of stuff in….just need to decide what we want 😏

It cleared up here too after a grotty morning. The little park sounds delightful.

It’s that time of year when you don’t know what you fancy to eat, I’m the same.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Glad to hear you got out to the water park , it's so handy being close by . I took the GKs out to the park with a towel to dry the swings , howeverDGD fell in a mud bath so the towel got used to clean her up.
Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

Oh no SG2 - I can just picture poor dhd in the mud. Part of the reason we chose the water park is that it has good paths but even they were treacherous with wet leaf mush 😳 dh was waiting for me to do a slide of some sort 😂😂😂😂 which has been known 😳😂😂

  • The little park sounds lovely, it's good to discover a hidden gem. I'm glad you didn't fall in the mud and mush 😂.
