What a nightmare with the prescription. I think GP surgeries are still using Covid as an excuse to provide a shoddy service.Agree with WW your OH should get a bonus or time off.
Awful about the stabbings. You should see the spider’s web across our living room window, it’s huge as is the spider. It’s got a really good haul of dead insects wrapped up and ready to eat. It looks very proud of its stash so wait until the window cleaner washes it all away 😆 On the outside of the window by the way 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Bloody hell that's a long long day for your DH @milann.

He will get paid for the hours he put in or time in lieu….but just at the usual just over minimum wage. He seemed pleased that he had his dinner bought for him…..I told him to watch Peterloo again to see how they fought for workers rights 😜😜 Lol I’m turning into a family member who is a staunch trade unionist…….I’ve always been easy going and never made a fuss…..think listening to ‘ friendly’ workers rights arguments put me off for life.
2 more dead flies on my window ledge…..how very dare they die on there after I’ve just cleaned it 😂😂😂
I need to dig my passport and marriage certificate out to send to the pension folk for my deferred pension of £110 a year…..it’s reduced from £134 a year as I’m going to take the larger lump sum. I wonder if they’ll be able to record that they’ve seen them or if I’ll need to send them in a couple of weeks or so when I apply for the early retirement pension…..it’s all from the same place.
My tummy has still been a nuisance…..I’ve been reading up and the stoma help sites , they all recommend a visit to the doctor which should be followed up (literally) with a camera. I’m hoping it settles again as it was like this previously then sorted itself but if it’s still the same when I come back from dds I will have to go. There’s not much can be done, think it’s just a matter of ruling things out - other than very drastic surgery…..of which there is no chance. I’ll learn to manage it 😵💫January spends - £587.581 -
I think prescriptions are the one thing our doctors surgery are good at. The other half rings for his, they have a telephone message service, and a couple of days later his medication is ready at his designated pharmacy.
I have probably jinxed that now and it won't be ready before we go on holiday 🤣🤣🤣
Glad I have a 9-5 job. DH had a long day there!1 -
So I should be at SW but my tummy is playing up again. Plus I know I’ve put on and will face it after my birthday next week as I have no intention of being SW friendly when I go out for a couple of meals and few days with dd 😁Hopefully my tummy will settle by this afternoon as I want to go to post the pension papers off and go into the train station to get a senior railcard so I can get train tickets for next week. So today will not be a NSD.
😂😂I’ve just seen a squirrel chase a cat up a tree in a neighbours garden and sit at the bottom watching it…..cat wouldn’t come down until the squirrel moved……thought it was meant to be the other way around 😂😂😂😂

I walked to the train station via the post office and paid over £6 to send certificates to the pensions people. The sent me a 2nd class pre paid envelope but I don’t trust it. Bet they send them back by ordinary post though 😏😏 But in my mind if post is going to be interfered with and it’s going to the pension folk - unscrupulous folk will know there’s a chance of important papers being inside and more likely to intercept. I am definitely becoming very suspicious.
I walked to the station and had photos taken ready for the senior rail pass…..only to find I’d read the wrong bit of the form and didn’t need them 😳 that’ll teach to read paperwork properly. I was going to come home and book tickets on line but ended up getting them there and then as they were the same price and I have the ticket in my hand without messing with t’internet 😀😀😀 So that’s my birthday present to myself - I go the day after my birthday 😁😁😁
I was going to get a coffee in the park £2.80 on my way home but ended up buying a meal deal for £3.20 from a nearby shop - a sandwich, pot of fruit and drink…and sat in the park watching the world go by. There was no evidence of yesterday’s horrendous stabbing- lots of families around and youngsters on the skatepark…..a few oldies too 😀

I don't blame you for splashing out on the recorded delivery - its exactly what I would do. I sometimes get mail through that looks like it's been opened and resealed - you can't be too careful. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Wow - I’ve just received my certificates back from pensions folk via recorded delivery 👍👏👏👏👏 well done pensions folk. I shouldn’t be so cynical 😏😂
A bit of a rubbish day yesterday- no spends which was good. Otherwise I stayed in and read my book. Couldn’t motivate myself to do much else. But it was a lovely relaxing day. No plans yet for today. Dh has just nipped out so we might do something when he gets back. I’ve finished my book so I’ll pop to the little book swap up the road and see if they’ve got any easy read books I can get lost in - can’t cope with anything too taxing atm 😏 a house up the road has made a lovely hand made box for a book swap….must be a carpenter as it is lovely and all the books in there are decent quality 👍

On Saturday I had a lovely day with dh. We went to a train show - the 1st since before lockdown. It was lovely to see some friends and this particular show is over the Pennines to a lovely little heritage centre which is home to some craft shops, an antique centre and some lovely little cafes as well as the hall where the show was. I had a wander around with ds and then I did my own thing at the craft shop, unfortunately they didn’t have what I wanted so I’ll have to look online. We met up for a cuppa and cake, had another wander around the show where ds bought a couple of bits which I’ll enjoy painting for him. After that we walked some calories off by walking around the park and lake across the road. From there we headed to a big shopping mall for a mooch around and had tea. I bought a birthday present for eldest gdd and birthday card for my lovely friend who had a horrible stroke a few years back. We drove back and dropped the card with his wife. I love the run over the hills but it’s the 1st time in quite a few years we’ve done it in the dark - white knuckle doesn’t come into it 😳😳although just recently I admit, I’m a terrible passenger
Yesterday we went on the tram - it was a lot busier than I anticipated and felt a tad uncomfortable- although most people had a mask on. We used some vouchers I’d bought for ds and dh for Christmas 19 and a bit of a birthday treat for me and headed into the big town near me to Tom Kerridge restaurant in a bejoux hotel. It was a lovely treat. There was a trio playing live music, the atmosphere was very relaxed. I had a salmon dish with pickled cucumber and a crispy thing that tasted like wafer this crackling. Roast beef with all the trimmings followed by panacotta, pineapple and coconut ice cream and a couple of cheeky cocktails. 🍹🍹 I got quite a taste for rhubarb cosmopolitans 😁. It was lovely but I’m not convinced it warranted the money spent on it. The building used to be The Stock exchange and was really beautiful inside.
So 2 quite spendy days. I’d planned a NSD today but the window cleaner has just turned up. Mmmmm I’d done quite well spend wise until this weekend……January spends - £587.580
