Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

I joined SW 6 weeks ago to support my friend. She's been in hospital twice in the last week with a heart complaint so it was a good call but I've put on 4 lbs. Nibbling junk between meals is one of my downfalls, batch cooking then not fancying any of it is another then total brain freeze at meal times when trying to decide what to cook.... I always say that if it was easy we'd all look like Twiggy.1

Another one who lost plenty at slimming world and then lost her mojo and put it back 😖

We both lost loads of weight a few years back. We didn't join WW or SW but we were just sensible with what we ate during the week and let ourselves enjoy the weekends. It worked and we both lost about 2 stone.
It has since all gone back on again though. We do both really need to think about making a fresh start at it and giving it another go. We have both put on far too many lockdown pounds!!1 -
It’s encouraging to know I’m not alone. I think I’ve found it a tad frustrating that people have joined and lost stones whilst I’m still plodding along getting nowhere fast.I’m going to look at my portion size, reduce the processed stuff and think 80% healthy with 20% for a few treats. I also need to do some form of exercise every day. When lockdown was on, I went out for a walk most days. Now I’ll nip into town or around to visit a friend in the car instead.I’m going to look at my bank balances later and do some research to either open a savings account or buy some premium bonds. I’ve saved more than I’ve ever saved before since I’ve not been paying debts back and have been aware that I’m going to take a hit on my wages. (That’s my savings and nothing to do with dh inheritance - which is being used for home improvements and the motorhome….mmmmm….not sure how much will be left 😏)
Right I’m off to meet a friend in the pool….I’ve had a big bowl of porridge with strawberries and banana and will try to resist cake with my cuppa in the cafe. I’ve got cake for an evening treat later 😃January spends - £587.582 -
I too find it hard to keep my mojo going when dieting. I'm terrible for starting new diets, having an initial large weight loss then throwing in the towel a few weeks later and piling it all on again! I'm now at the heaviest I've ever been. ☹️ I decided last Friday to start again - I've cut out all the sweet and savoury snacks and just go for a reasonable calorie count per day. Hopefully I'll get a nice surprise when I weigh in tomorrow!😃
Have a good time at the pool today with your friend.

Good Luck SSG 🤞
I managed 8 lengths today 😃 The jacuzzi was full so we didn’t get in there as they’re only allowing 2 at a time in atm. But we did get to the cafe where we chatted for a couple of hours…..we put the world to rights and then some 😂😂 annnd I only had a cuppa which my friend bought - my turn next time 👍 She is a member at the gym so we’ll meet there again 😃

If you think of it as changing the way you eat rather than calling it a diet it’s a lot easier. Replace the bad things with good things bit by bit so you don’t notice it. Still allow yourself treats but not as often or you’ll set yourself up for failure. I lost a stone with WW 19 years ago and kept it off because I changed the way I eat for good. I still have treats, I certainly don’t deprive myself. My first WW leader said it’s all about small changes and that’s always stuck with me.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Just joining in the weight loss discussion as on my daughter and son in laws suggestion I am going to my first ever SW meeting next week to see about signing up to see if I can lose the last troublesome half a stone I need to lose to make sure my size 12 clothes fit comfortably. I gained weight over the last lockdown and lost it last summer but just cannot shift the last half stone in spite of sensible eating and exercising at least four times a week. I know what I have to do to lose it but just cannot seem to motivate myself to shift the last 8 pounds. Apparently you don't pay if you are at target? I am hoping the MSE side of me will spur me on to get to target if for no other reason than I can get some of the SW choc biscuits my friend keeps offering me which are delicious and not have to pay to attend meetings. I am also hoping it is easier to follow than my present system which is calorie counting and takes forever to record everything I eat and drink.
