We popped and paid for the kitchen this morning before dh went to work - will get Mr T points on most of the price of the kitchen......might as well work things to my advantage. Once he’d gone to work,  I walked around to Morrison’s to get him a birthday card for Sunday......it’s tricky as he’s with me most of the time if we’ve been out and about.  I was going to sit and have a cuppa before walking back but the cafe was shut and it was raining so sitting on the bench was a non starter. I’m so tired now - feel like I’ve been kicked around my middle and my hip is driving me mad.....it’s a 5 minute walk. Getting mightily fed up of having no energy.
Anyway I phoned the nurses about the dressing and am waiting for them to phone me back.
Twas a shock to my system going out of the house at 8 am - Jack Frost had painted the car windscreens in quite a spectacular way.....looked pretty but was a tad chilly. I’m not missing cold mornings at all 🤪

The nurse has been and changed the dressing- doesn’t think it’s infected but will take a swab when she comes on Friday.

Fingers crossed for no infection. You’ll just have to be patient with the recovery, I know it’s hard. It was very cold first thing here today but also very sunny.

Really hope you don't have an infection.  If you had an infection before maybe (hopefully) it is your brain/memory being triggered to work to keep you safe.  The mind can be a wonderful thing!

I don’t think I have an infection as I feel as fine as you can when recouping from a big op....certainly don’t feel any worse.  All is looking good with the dressing since it was changed yesterday....no leakage or smells 👍😀 Think I’m cautious as I had MRSA after a previous op 😳
I dropped my false tooth yesterday and a tiny slither has broken off at the gum edge - it feels like a crater and really rough. I’m tempted to get the drimmel out to smooth the rough edge 🤔🤔🤔 or a bit of superglue 🤔🤔🤔
A bit of good news on the long awaited inheritance.....it’s taken  another step in the right direction. They’re finally ready to release the main body of cash.....which is nowhere near as much as it was because of all the fees sorting this mess out😡😡😡....looks like they’ve decided to just hold enough back to clear the fees there is conflict about. Fingers crossed...won’t be life changing but it means we can still have a holiday when the time is right. My mil would be fuming- it’s over 4 years since she died. The main winners have been the solicitors.....just be careful when choosing financial advisors and trusts 😏

Good news about the inheritance but shame on the solicitors. I bet you'll be glad when it's all over.

A bit of a busy day yesterday. The nurse came and took a swab it looked so much better than a couple of days ago. No redness, smells or leakages....I don’t think there is an infection and no idea what was up with it the other day. But I’m glad they came and sorted it - she used some kind of anti bacterial cleaning stuff and more manuka honey solution on it - it could have gone worse had I left it.  I’ve now been promoted to visiting the health centre rather than them coming to me. So next Saturday at 12.30. I’ve got dressings to do it myself in between times 👍
We had a ride to deliver some birthday cards from a distance yesterday and went for a little walk in the sunshine. We walked at the same place 3 weeks ago and I could really feel the difference.....it’s a pond in a small park that used to have a Manor House which has long gone - about a 20 minute drive away - I managed half way last time but did the whole lot this time.....about 5000 steps 😀
I had a long chat with a GP who gave me a sick note for another 6 weeks and advised me in which medication to take for my hip 👍
I've got a virtual appointment with work and HR in a couple of weeks.....I’m more worried about using the technology 😳😳
Today we went to get paint from B&Q and we passed the place where we’d looked at vinyl flooring and were surprised it was open so we nipped in to look at it. If we order it’ll take a week at least.....could really do with it sooner so will see what the builder says - apparently he has a mate who can get it but I’d like to see what I’m getting first 😂😂
The kitchen is being delivered on 16th and a friend is going to paint for us (mates rates) so we’ve just been and bought the paint. All systems go 👍👍 it’s all happening here. The end is in sight 🤞😄
The lockdown hasn’t felt much different to what we usually do. It’s a pain that the meal at Tom Kerridge has been cancelled again tomorrow on dh birthday.....but we will appreciate it when we eventually get there......4th time lucky 🤞
