I'm glad you're going with your heart and I would have done the same
. Hearing you talk about loving the sea makes me realise I should go more often as I'm a very short drive away from the coast.

So we went and ordered the kitchen.....dh is having mega second thoughts 🤔🙄 he is the same every time we order something big....it’s just a matter of giving him time to get used to the idea. 😏😏😏😏 Then give wren the go ahead to start building. We have said not to start until we’ve discussed it with the builder who is back from holiday next week. The downside is that we won’t be able to have the proper worktops until after Christmas.
i walked around to Morrison’s yesterday - the first time I’ve been out on my own. I usually go and have a cuppa in the cafe when I’m at this stage of recovery but I didn’t want to have to give my details for the sake of a cuppa....and maybe end up isolating.....but I knew I couldn’t walk home. So I bought a take away cuppa and sat on a bench outside for a rest. I bought a couple of little Halloween torches to sent to gks and walked back....just before it threw it down big time 😀 I was totally done in for the rest of the day. I was so tired and I can see The Morrison’s sign from my doorstep. It was quite scary being out on my own.
I haven’t seen the plasterer for 2 days 😡 the labourer came around yesterday and put my old units in some kind of order so that I can use them until the kitchen is ready.I made the gks a Halloween card each yesterday too....it kept me amused for an hour or so 😂😂
The baby cardigan has been finished and I’m making the first of the Aran jackets for my gks. It’s a very simple design but a big challenge for me.January spends - £587.583 -

Hairy you need to make the most of the sea....I love it. Funnily enough my dad grew up in an Irish seaside town and the sea didn’t do much for him at all......but he was also in the Merchant Navy and saw some pretty scary waves by all accounts. My dd is near the sea but it is so calm there it feels more like a river than the ‘proper’ sea with big waves.January spends - £587.582

How exciting about the kitchen,I'm the same as your OH with big purchases,it takes me ages to make a decision and as soon as the deed is done I start to have second thoughts,it's really annoying 🙄
We have three beaches that we can go to ( Exmouth,Dawlish and Paignton ) thats are all about a twenty minute train journey from here,I live within walking distance of the train station,Dawlish Warren is good to go to on the train because it drops you off right next to the beach so not much walking, we tend to go to Exmouth though because it's a long beach and you can get a good walk in, the other place I like to visit is Sidmouth which has a pebble beach but you can't get there on the train only by bus which takes a while,i like the town there though,it's got a Christmas shop which I have yet to visit 😊

I just wanted to say (rather than just tick the thanks button) for giving me a spontaneous laugh out loud moment. OBL brought out a VERY old memory when she mentioned Dawlish. I haven't thought of it for years. Back in the 1950s we went there to school camp! Still smiling ......

I'm glad you're on the mend and managed a walk to get a cup of tea on your own, I can understand you feeling a bit nervous though. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It does seem a bit extreme just for a cuppa, I can understand why you didn’t bother and got a takeout.HHOD you should make the most of what’s on your doorstep but I think we’re all guilty of thatI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
