Yes hope all goes well with the nurse milann. 👍
Re kitchen flooring and water - when my DD moved into her first flat some years ago there was a very nice light grey wood look laminate flooring in the kitchen diner. Then the washing machine flooded and it badly stained a portion of the flooring.  So I think either a good vinyl or ceramic tiles are the way to go in kitchens and bathrooms.
Like @Sun_Addict I'm going to watch Rebecca tomorrow night. I must say though that I've seen the trailer and am a bit nervous - the characters look and appear so different from the book. But I'm such a terrible Rebecca snob as it's my fav novel!🤣.

Yes windowsills have been ordered. So I had a peaceful nights sleep last night and we had the luxury of not having to be up for 8 as it was the plasterer who said he be coming after 9.30.
Well the plasterer finished at half 5 yesterday. He’d been gone 5 minutes and I went to wash the cups they’d used in the sink. I emptied the sink of water and walked into my living room. I noticed some very wet footprints where I’d walked  - so off I trots to investigate.   I had my very own water fountain under the sink spilling all over the floor.....so I had to phone the builder. He was about to get the labourer out - he’d been here since 8 am and worked later than usual.....and hadn’t worked in that room. It was his son....and I told the boss this......anyway the son arrived back and he’d disconnected the washing machine and dishwasher earlier but not put any stoppers in the pipe where it was connected. He didn’t seem happy that he’d had to come back.....I was less happy at having to empty my cupboard with everything soaking wet.  As he was going he said he’d see us this morning......I told him I was going out at eleven and he assured me he would be here before then.....some time after half nine. It got to half eleven- no sign. I messaged boss who is half way to Scotland for a week asking him to give son a nudge. Anyway when he hadn’t showed by 12 we went out and messaged his dad again, who phoned back full of apologies and seemed at his wits end with said son. It’s such a shame as all the other workmen have worked their socks off. The son has actually done a real good job with the plastering, but I suspect from what dad has said that he likes his partying too much....up all night and sleeping all morning. That’s all well and good but you don’t let a paying customer down - he wouldn’t last 5 minutes if he wasn’t working for his dad. So no work was done today 😡 I suppose we could have waited in but we needed a change of scenery.....and part of me wanted to teach this arrogant young man a lesson. But I suspect he didn’t care one iota and I’ve cut my nose off to spite my face.....it’ll take longer to get the job done 🙄 But it was lovely to get out a bit 😀
We went looking at vinyl to see if we could see anything not quite as expensive as the one we’d  seen previously. It was an expensive shop in an upmarket part of town where we saw it on Thursday. We saw a very similar one at literally half the price in a flooring warehouse- so unless we see anything better I think that’ll be the one. We went back to double check in posh floor shop and the quality was similar but the shade of wood slightly different. I can live with that. We had a long drive around to see different places as I wanted to be out but can still only walk short distances. It was just good to see different places.
We have an appointment at Wren tomorrow and then going to see ds.
I am tucked up in bed watching War Of The Worlds - on The Show Must Go On - it’s on this weekend so I’ll watch strictly on catch up.  Not sure if I’ll manage to stay awake until the end. I wanted to buy dh tickets to see it live but just couldn’t afford it at the time. If it ever does the rounds again I shall investigate.
The nurse says she might need to come for the next couple of weeks- there’s still about an inch of the scar not fully healed - it’s over granulating apparently. It’s going in the right direction though

Such a shame that one person lets a firm down. I would stick with Howdens 😊

I quite like  Lilly James. Funny have we all have our preferences....it’d be a boring old world if we were all the same.
Dh is working today - he’s usually off on a Friday. I’m half enjoying the quiet and half missing him. I don’t quite know what to do with myself. I’m tired and feeling a bit meh today so a lazy day is probably the best thing. I’ve had a couple of busier days and I woke up at 3 am because my hip was sore and I was thinking window ledges 🤔🤔😳😱😂 as you do at 3 in the morning.  There’s going to be a window in the new utility room and I couldn’t remember what we’d said about putting a window ledge in as we’re not tiling that wall.....so I tossed and turned all night and couldn’t get comfy 🙄😡
Waiting for the plaster to turn up. He actually did a good job yesterday once he started.....it’s just getting him started. The labourer has been here since 8 am. Bosses son is certainly taking advantage and his dad just laughs - he wouldn’t get away with it in a different company 🙄🙄🙄
I’m also waiting for the nurse -  I can’t believe a week has gone since the last visit. I’m hoping this might be the last 🤞

I have to admit that although I dont like her she did do it justice 😀

What a palaver with the plasterer milann - you must have been fuming. 😡 One of my friends has a son like that - he's a good tiler but likes to party too. I only ever booked him once some years ago to do a small bit of tiling and he didn't turn up because he was hungover. My friend and his dad was furious with him but it's happened a bit over the years.  I've never bothered booking him again.
Glad you've found some good vinyl at a decent price.  You sound like you enjoyed your trip out. 😀

These sons are fine (I've known a couple) but only if you don't have any time scale to a project.  Dads will often charge less for them just to keep them in work & stop them holding out the begging bowl.

Reading between the lines and seeing the son, I suspect there have been problems during his teenage and ongoing adult years......and dad is doing what any dad would do by giving him a trade and keeping as close an eye on him as possible. We shall see what unfolds today. I think there’s a plumber coming at some point today....but whether unplastered walls will hamper his progress - I’m not sure🙄🙄.....He has just arrived 🤞🤞🤞fingers crossed he stays 👍
Yesterday we looked at Wren.......I’m quite taken with what I’ve seen. BUT......do I follow my head or my heart 😳😂🤪
There were 2 grey shaker style kitchens which I liked.
     - A perfectly adequate - no whistles or bells kitchen which was a slightly darker in colour than I’d imagined.....but I could live with it. My head choice.....
    - then a kitchen which is the colour I visualised. A better finish with elegant trims which set it off and quartz worktops. My heart choice ❤️
Neither were as expensive as I’d imagined and we could pay for them both.....
I was really pleased with the computer images of floor colouring and general look (a rough idea anyway) of what the kitchen will look like. She was a lovely designer and not the slightest bit pushy. The sale ends Wednesday but if we put a deposit on the cheapest kitchen it locks into the offer and we can upgrade to whichever combination of kitchens she had given us quotes for......she did 6 combinations....them fitting, us fitting etc. But if there’s a better offer we can change to it. Decisions, decisions 🤔🤔
We went across the road from Wren to relative in my bubble’s house. The sun was shining and on the spur of the minute we decided to go out for a drive to seaside place just over an hour from where we were. We stayed at the outer edge of the town and had a walk along the prom just watching the sea, the waves were crashing in and it was just what we all needed. I really do need my fix of seeing the sea every now and then.....does wonders for me. I did really well with walking, although dh went and brought the car to where we’d walked so I didn’t have to walk back....that would have pushed me too far. There were very few people where we were although the centre of town looked busy. We drove through the illuminations once it went dark and then had fish and chips. This town is in the same tier as we are.....it’s had a bit of mixed press on the news. What we did felt safe - 🤞🤞🤞 fingers crossed that it was 🤔
So last night I couldn’t sleep - I tossed and turned- my hip was giving me agro and I felt muscles I didn’t even know I had......restful day today then 😀
So it should be a quietish day work wise in the house today, just plastering....so just to keep me on my toes - they’re digging the road up outside with drills 🙉😳

I would go for the ❤ choice. You'll have to live with it for a few years so you might as well get one you really love rather than one that's adequate. Hope you manage to get a restful day despite the drilling outside.
