We went to relative’s today. I took some shopping and did some jobs. He loves his garden and always plants tomatoes from seed but wasn’t up to it when it was time for sewing this year. We’ve helped him (we’ve done the work whilst he’s told us what wants doing) get his garden  into shape, so it’s at a stage where he can potter. I mentioned it to my neighbour  when she was asking about him, she is a gardener in the true sense of the word. Anyway she offered some tomato plants once they were ready for planting out. She came around with 12 plants in the week.....so today I helped him plant them. 9 tomato plants fitted into his space so I’ve brought 3 home and put them in pots - we’ll have a bit of healthy competition to see who grows the biggest😂😂 His garden is looking very nice now and very productive. I’ll get my fair share of the produce when it’s time for harvesting. He has raised beds so it’ll be easy for him to potter around now 😀👍 The wildflower seeds we planted a few weeks ago aren’t doing a great deal - a few bits sprouting but I’m quite disappointed with them. I think it’s just been too hot. After all the floods earlier this year. I suspect they’ll be a hosepipe ban if it carries on being  as dry as it is.
I spent £45 in Morrison’s this morning but £20 was for relative. I ended picking up things I didn’t really need though because they were there......

Lazy day today - pottered about and a WhatsApp chat with dd and gks. Myself and dh painted 3 coats on one side of the 4 newest fence panels. We need to paint 2 1/2 of the other sides as we back onto 2 gardens. There’s a lovely lady over the back of one garden so we will paint hers green to match what she has. But the other 1 1/2 backs onto a couple and their fence is brown in the other side. I can’t get hold of him to ask if we can go in his garden to slip them in as it’s behind our pond.......and we’d get very we feet 😳it’s turned into a fence post again😂😂😂😂😜😜😜
NSD today as we haven’t been out of the house or garden. I’m feeling less inclined to go out as the restrictions have eased......I was listening to some of the scientific folk talk this morning - food for thought.....

I was up early this morning and we got the fence panels painted. Next door to our right are helping us put them across the back tomorrow evening - it’s her mums house. I can’t tell you how excited I am about it 🤪🤪 All we have to do now is wait for next door on our left to cut the panels for us to make a couple of part panels out of 1....I’ll paint them and you’ll be pleased to hear I’ll have finished - no more fencey  posts. It’s surprising how it transforms the garden 😀 This afternoon we went to the local garden centre as I wanted some Alpines  - they didn’t have many in but I bought 4 for a tenner. I’m making a miniature Japanese style garden too and wanted some small blue gravel that goes in the bottom of a fish bowl to simulate a river...anyway I got some from there. There were only a couple of folk in the garden centre - we purposely left it until half an hour before closing hoping it’d be quiet.
dd phoned this morning and eldest gdd is heartbroken as her school has confirmed they can’t accommodate her year - she was looking forward to going back to see her friends next week ( dd wasn’t sure about it) but due to space they have emailed saying there won’t be room for them - anyway she NEEDED a grandma story....I was very touched and just wanted to hug her.....anyway an hours worth of stories and chatting over t’internet cheered her up and she toddled off happily distracted. I do wonder how all our children will be affected long term with everything that’s happening.
£15 spent in garden centre today....my weakness 🙄

Well last night the neighbours came out and we got the fence at the back of the garden up. ‘Twas going very well until we discovered a leaning post that we couldn’t do anything with. The panel needed planing until it could slide in then it was too loose and needed lots of packing....took longer to do than the rest of the garden put together. So with the weather forecast rubbish for today I set to and painted the remaining side which we put in a few years ago. I finished just before 10 o clock. It’s looking pretty good even if I say so myself. All we need now is next door to make 3 short panels for the corners and it’ll be done. The next garden job is putting some decking over an uneven patch. Dh has been measuring and doing a lot of oohing and arrghing.....watch this space. I know just what I want and in my head it isn’t complicated but dh seems to think it is🤔😳 Not sure if I simplify or he over complicates 😂😂😂
I’ve not done much today. I did too much yesterday - my arm and hip have been giving me agro. I want to finish the cardi for littlest gdd - just needs sewing and bands knitting but I can’t do it today.
