I nipped to Aldi earlier as I needed eggs and bread - there were no queues and they had eggs - which I haven’t been able to get form Morrison’s for a while but no bread. I couldn’t be bothered chasing around so got a bake at home french stick. Dh can nip to the bakery tomorrow.
I ended up watering the garden when I came in as I noticed some of the bedding plants I’d planted last week wilting - we had a couple of minutes rain earlier but I can’t remember the last time it rained. I ended up knocking a garden ornament over - a bear holding a ‘welcome’ sign - my mil bought it for dh for his last Christmas present from her. I have it by the front door with pots around it and always try to keep it pretty in her memory. I’m hoping it’ll glue ok. The hosepipe knocked it over as I tugged it 😢
I’d asked dh to post a birthday card to my friend who is shielding herself and her Dh had the stroke and is now in the carehome. It’s her birthday on Saturday.....anyway he forgot to post it ( that’s usually my trick)  so I’ve decided to go around and wave through the window on her birthday. I know she’s really upset about not being able to visit her dh in the home. If they’ve got any decent bedding plants left at Morrison’s I’ll get her a pot made up to take around too.

  • Sorry about your garden ornament Milann, I hope it can be mended.

We haven't had much rain lately either so I've been watering my pots every few days to keep them happy.

Are you at school tomorrow? I hope it goes well.

Garden ornament is mended and we think we are going to stick it on some slate before we put it back out - by standing some pots on the slate too, hopefully it might make it more stable.
I’ve been in work today. It was lovely as I worked with the teacher I work most with plus another member of my team. There were quite a few of the children I work with too. So a good day.
We have just been to B&M and borrowed a trolley to bring 4 fence panels back home. It’s only around the corner and we’ve only got 3 ft high ones. We took the trolley back afterwards. Next door has said if we got the panels they’d put them in. Works ok for me 👍

What's happening at your school? Are you going to open for foundation and year ones?

I have no idea yet what’s happening yet at school - I’ve just posted  on your diary. They are still coming up with more questions than answers....... They were doing virtual interviews today at school for a TA in reception for September. It’s a pity you don’t live closer to me HH.

Hh at the moment we have vulnerable and key workers children in. We had 13 children and 4 staff - 2 teachers and 2 support staff plus someone in the office.  We took it in turns to have breaks and dinners and there were 2 of us with the children at all times. Children brought packed lunches or pre ordered a grab bag - which children on free school meals get too. No dinner time staff in at all. The grab bags are delivered from a central kitchen. We did the full day. I sat with the children and ate my dinner outside rather than in an empty staff room on my own.

That's similar staff numbers to us for classroom time, except one MTA has been coming in every lunchtime to look after ALL the children on their own! Bit bonkers really. That's why the caretaker had to help me the two days we had fifteen children. And I had to take them all to the dining room for a hot lunch!
