Work went well today - school felt quite eerie and quiet. We had 12 children in and 5 staff - 2 were teachers and a couple of support staff plus we had somebody manning the office. We had all the children in the same room but split occasionally into 2 halves with some playing out and some inside. All the staff mucked in together - we took turns with breaks and dinner times - there were always 2 adults with the children. It’s safer that way for all concerned. The teacher I was with is very old school, I’ve not worked with her before and I’ll not be in a hurry to do so again. She’s nice enough but works differently to me. I’m in again next Friday though with a fun filled teacher I’m used to working with so it’ll be a very different day. I’m looking forward to it. There was a lot of standing around so my hip is quite sore tonight - I’m not going out for a walk but resting and having a lazy evening.
My cc statement is due today. I’m not sure if my car insurance will be on this months or next months. I still can’t believe I’ll be able to pay it all off - car insurance used to scupper me big time - I’ll pay it just before the due date. I don’t believe in paying before I have to but pay before I get charged any interest ☺️Listening to the forecasts for the future - it makes me want to hang onto any cash I’m getting at work - who knows what cuts are around the corner. I’m in a fairly safe job I hope but I’m not counting my chickens....time to take care of the pennies just in case.January spends - £587.582 -

Yesterday was an unexpectedly lovely day. I realised some of the Ave had put flags outside and it hadn’t even entered my head to do so. So we printed some Union Jacks from on line and spent a very pleasant hour or so colouring them in. Dd sent a photo of granddaughters making a banner for their house. So I sent one back of dh colouring- they thought it was hilarious. We put said pictures in the window - much better than going out to buy flags. We wouldn’t ever think of sitting colouring together in normal circumstances.Then we spent most of the day in the garden and I finished putting the bedding plants out. We had a walk about 4 o’clock and passed lots of VE distancing parties. Everyone seemed really friendly and chatted to quite a lot. A lovely atmosphere.At 9 pm some of our Ave went out and sang We’ll Meet Again. We took chairs and tables out we had a fire pit in the middle of the bowl of the Ave and music. We sat around at social distances. It was absolutely lovely - not all the Ave were out but most were. Of course a few glasses were raised and it was nearly 1 o clock when we headed home. At least we didn’t have far to stumble back 🤪January spends - £587.585

What a boring day - sat in front of the tv trying to make sense of the new guidelines. I stayed on plan SW so that was a bonus 👍 first day in a whileJanuary spends - £587.583

So today I decided there is no way I can wait until July to get my hair cut so I gave myself a buzz cut. It would’ve been ok except I forgot about by hairline at my fringe - a widow peak type that is usually covered by fringe. I ended up with a very strange shaped fringe. I should have separated the fringe and not buzzed over it....I set to with scissors and snipped into it like I’ve seen hairdressers do to try and straighten it a bit. It’s far from perfect but feels much better. I let it dry naturally as I didn’t want it to fluff up with the hairdryer. All I can say is it grows quickly. There’s no way I’m even going to be tempted into saving cash and doing my own hair in future...💇🏻♀️🤦🏻♂️😳January spends - £587.583

Your VE night sounds lovely, glad you enjoyed it. Nothing like that happened on my road.It’s weird but my fringe usually grows like mad but hasn’t done since lockdown. I’ve trimmed it slightly but that’s all. Not tackled the rest of my hair though, thankfully it’s long. Will be glad when I can get back to the hairdressers and have a good cut.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

At least your hair isn't annoying you any more and it will grow quickly
. They may open hair dressers soon although you may not want to risk going to one. (I've seen it now and it looks fine
)
