Glad glad I’ve given you the idea Sunshine. I was surprised how many cards I’d half done...I will carry on. I think the reason I stopped doing them was I swapped my craft room to the smaller spare room when we had to accommodate an expanding family coming to stay, I used to have a drop down table in the old room but now I’ve just got shelves for my storage and I cba bringing my boxes downstairs....plus somebody referred to it as ‘therapy’ when I was off work after being really poorly a few years back. I think the frame of mind I was in at the time it was enough for me to see it in a new light....and it put me off. Silly I know but it is what it is. Anyway the card arrived at its destination and was appreciated and I was very impressed with the post office as I didn’t post it until late Thursday and there’s been a bank holiday in between and staff shortages with the dreaded virus - it’s travelled nearly the length of the country and got there today 👍
I did lots of cleaning yesterday and put my washer to the test. I was shattered last night. But pleased I’ve done it. Off to do some cleaning and take some shopping to relative at some point soon - they are still saying we can care for vulnerable people so that’s good enough for me. Other than the shop and local walk I’m not going anywhere else, and we keep our distance at opposite sides of the room.I needed to do some shopping for myself and relative but couldn’t decide when to go - I’d heard horror stories of folk waiting a long time. I went around half past 12 today - I walked straight in 👍😀😀😀👍 I got some bargains again - chicken and mushroom pies reduced to 50p from £2. Barmcakes and bread 18p and they had loads of fresh turkeys reduced to £8....I’ll be surprised if they sell them all.....I’d have had one if I’d have had room In my freezer. But I’ve still got a turkey in there from Christmas 😳 I even managed to buy a couple of grow bags to plant some salad seeds. So I’ve used the polystyrene tray from my washing machine packaging and lay the grow bags on top as a water storage and a bit of insulation. It’s crazy my garden is taken over by the train track - which I love but I miss ‘real gardening’
I'm watching Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar on YouTube at the moment - it’s not what I expected it to be but I do like some of the songs from it. There is a different show every Friday evening and it’s available over the weekend to watch. The site is called The Show Must Go On.
I have been out with my hosepipe watering the garden as some of my plants were wilting. I’d forgotten how much I love doing that job. I find it really relaxing - feels like summer ☀️January spends - £587.585 -
So I put a Jamie Oliver lamb and chickpea dish in the oven at 7 this morning. Cooked it slowly for 6 hours - it’s one of my favourite meals but I only ever do it when lamb is on offer......I shredded the lamb and went over to do some cleaning/change bedding etc and take shopping to relative - taking a big pan of said lamb with us. We made some cous cous whilst there and it was absolutely delicious. There’s enough left to feed relative a few days and make about 6 portions for my freezer too. So although it’s a bit of a treat and feels extravagant buying the lamb it actually goes a long way. I felt quite guilty getting out of the car at relatives house as a neighbour was giving us dirty looks but at the moment he can’t do the jobs I did for him himself and I figure it’s safer than a carer going into him. I felt like telling nosey neighbour if she bothered to speak to him she’d know what a big op he’d had a couple of months ago....and he is doing incredibly well - many people wouldn’t push themselves to be able to do what he is managing himself. It makes me quite mad when folk pre-judge - good job she didn’t say anything as I’d have gone back with both barrels.
We aren’t going anywhere else other than a few walks and shopping and keeping our distance and neither is he. And the rules say you can care for vulnerable people. Rant over 👍I had a lovely WhatsApp session with gks and dd had videoed their Easter egg hunt and when they opened the parcel I’d sent for them. The pjs were a big hit and they both put them on straight away and played in them the rest of the day (they actually looked more like shorts and t shirts )
So the mystery of the card I lost last week continues as I’d convinced myself it was in the parcel I’d sent to dd - it wasn’t 🤔🤪😂 no idea what I’ve done with it. One minute is was in my hand.....then I couldn’t find it.
10,000 plus families mourning.....a sad day. But lots of people are recovering too - got to remember that.Lazy day planned for tomorrow - knitting and watching some tv and weather permitting a potter around the garden.
Stay safe everyone 💐January spends - £587.584 -
Tell the neighbour to mind her own business 😡if she was a kind neighbour she could have offered to help herself and like you say you are allowed to help vulnerable people
They put up photos of some of the people who have died this morning and it really hit home to me seeing them all 😟I'm just counting my lucky stars that here in the Southwest we seem to be doing ok at the momentOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
One of the side effects I hate most about this virus (apart from so many losing loved ones of course) is how judgemental some people are being and how people seem to love criticising others behaviour (without knowing the facts in some cases). The police are encouraging this by saying people shouldn't buy plants or easter eggs, etc. Most people are taking the lockdown very seriously I think. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Your relative is lucky to have you looking after him. Far too many judgemental people around right now. We don’t get to hear about the ones who recover unfortunately, the media seem to prefer the bad news.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Thanks for the support folks. I know I’m doing the right thing by my relative but I did feel guilty when neighbour looked at me as she did. But I am going to continue keeping myself as safe as I can and continue going to help.I went for a nice walk using different paths around some parkland nearby - I walked along paths I’ve not ventured along for 20 years or more. Twas rather nice 😊January spends - £587.583

I’ve had such a lazy day - I’ve watched tv and knitted and not even reached 2000 steps 😳 my get up and go has got up and gone. I’m quite happy though and I’m sure I’ll make up for it later in the week. My cardigans are coming along nicely, I’ve now finished 2 backs and by this evening will have finished both sets of sleeves - just fronts, sewing and ribs and buttons - then I’ll have finished. My next project will be some baby boy tops for somebody who works with dh - baby boy due in August. I’ll have enough wool in my stash too so it’ll be a nice change doing something small and that I only have to do 1 of. My granddaughters like the same outfits knitting so it’s heavy going sometimes but they look good when they wear them together 🤪January spends - £587.583

It's good to have a hobby like knitting that is useful too. I bet your GDs will look lovely in their cardigans!😀
