I agree with this. Christmas activities are lovely at school but it's not worth risking your arm.

I’ve been chasing around for a prescription which should have gone to the chemist  but was waiting at the surgery. Then there were things on it I didn’t order but not all the things I did.....then I had a text from a medical supplier I have to get some things from to say my order was on the way - I hadn’t ordered anything as a couple of months ago they sent me enough to literally last a year....only need sending every 3 months and they sent me 4 :mad: My surgery will be getting a letter tomorrow - no idea what’s got into it......they’re only supposed to send things when requested :mad:

I know Beanie - most of the staff are lovely but they recently merged with another surgery and they are now dire.
I’m not quite sure where time has gone. I’ve had a busy few days.
I went to physio. The strength in my arm is improving but she wants me to see consultant before I go back to work. I’m happy with that as it’s a week tomorrow and only a few days after my sick note runs out so will be worth the wait. From there we went to the posh afternoon tea in the hotel we visited on heritage day. It was lovely- the dining room we ate in was very traditional and somewhat dated but it added to the charm. It’s the nicest afternoon tea I think I’ve ever had - a good balance of sweet and savoury- even a little cup of soup. And it tasted all the better because we had a voucher :money:
As we came out we saw the most amazing sunset - it was so clear over the sea you could see the hills of the Lake District and Wales - I haven’t seen it like that for a good while, just so relaxing and very quiet. On the way home we got stuck in a bit of traffic on a high bridge nearby just in time to see a big firework display not sure where it was from - we reckon there must have been something on at a cricket ground close by - couldn’t have timed it better then we finished by going into our local town for Foodie Friday - artisan food stalls with various music acts on too. So a mulled wine finished the day nicely.
On Saturday I went into the big town nearby my friend treated me to a show - not one I’d have chosen but I enjoyed it. We attempted to walk through the Christmas markets but it was so crowded we came straight out. It was quite scary as you just got pushed along with the crowd. Not an experience I want to repeat.
My nephew and his daughter came around yesterday for a meal which was lovely- but I wanted to get the decorations up before they arrived - so a busy day cooking a roast and decorating the house and garden - dh did the outside and heavy stuff - I just did food and pretty things.
So this morning- relax and breathe....before I head off to the hip clinic. I’m planning to walk there so they can see it as it is. It’s about half an hours walk which I haven’t done for a good while. So hopefully they can do something to help.January spends - £587.580 -
I walked to the hospital - I was limping really badly by the time I got there so they saw what it’s like. I saw a lovely consultant, had an x-ray and a free coffee and was on my way out in 45 minutes - and that was with arriving 10 minutes early. How the other half live - it was at a private hospital. Although i have to say I’ve had excellent service from the NHS (including today)....but the surroundings made this place stand out. He said exactly what I expected - suspected arthritis. I go back next week for the results and to see what the treatment will be - which depends on the progression.
I’ve had a letter to go into work for a meeting about my absence on 12th. Hopefully I’ll be back in by then. It will be what it will be. I think this might be the point they tell me I’m on half pay - which I’ve been planning for for a while.
Right after my long walk today I’m going to have a bit of r&r time watching some catch up tv and start new cardigans for the gks. I’m being adventurous and trying a simple Aran(ish) pattern. It could well go badly wrong :rotfl:January spends - £587.580 -

Well I didn’t get around to any knitting. I chilled for a while then I marzipanned the Christmas cakes I made the other week. I couldn’t roll out with 2 arms but managed using my left arm and just did what I could with my right arm. I think I’m doing really well until I try to do something that takes a lot of pressure then I realise it’s still got a way to go. But it’s improving all the time and I don’t need to roll things out every day....it is what it is. I sat down whilst doing it too. I felt ancient
When I eventually get my kitchen re done I’ve seen a tiny kitchen table I want as I don’t have a table in my kitchen at the moment - it’s a long thin room but I could really do with somewhere to sit when I’m preparing things.
I want to go to town on my own tomorrow to get dh and ds Christmas present and it will be my only free day when I’m on my own before I go to the hospital with my arm and might end up at work the following day....Not sure how I’ll fit work inJanuary spends - £587.580
