I think it might be after Chrimbo til you are back at work.
How would you feel about that?

If it has to be after Christmas Beanie - it’ll be what it is .....but I quite fancy going in for the last week or so. It’s not hard work at this time of year then I get 2 weeks off for Christmas and I’ll still have a week of my phased return after that - so it will be mid January when I go back full time. Plus I’ll be on half pay which is ok but not as good as full pay. Lol I’ve got whatever the consultant says about my hip to factor in too.....GRrrrrrr - if only they hadn’t messed with the retirement ages or at least left them at 62 I’d feel a lot happier about things. The way I feel now if I do anything physical - I can’t see me working until 66 and 8 months :mad::mad:

Just had some good news- my friends son is out of hospital. He is one amazing gent - sepsis, influenza and pneumonia with a spell in ICU He constantly pulls canulas out and every injection and blood test is a fight to get. But he keeps beating the odds.:D:D:D

  • Your day out to the seaside and afternoon tea sounded wonderful. Take your time about going back to work , take the medical advise they are the experts , but maybe not the nasty doctor at the surgery.

I bet the GKs are getting excited for the big mans visit . Good to hear you will be spending part of Christmas with them.

Great news about your friend's son :)

Ugh to the cornflour :( I once knocked a jar of Turmeric all over me. I had a white top on, the yellow never came out, had to bin it.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I went to physio on Friday and as I expected she said wait until I see the surgeon on Tuesday- so I’ll know on Tuesday about work. I go to see the hip consultant on Monday and I’ve got a meeting at work on Thursday as I’ve actioned the next phase of sick leave, which I’m presuming is half pay if I’m off again. I’ve got an exciting week ahead - I know how to live :o
I got dh to drop me at the tram station this morning on his way out and I went into town on the tram to get a few Christmas bits. One of the tv chefs has opened a new restaurant in town and I’ve got ds and dh a voucher....well I’ve paid for them this morning and they’ll be posted out to me. I’ll go with them when we go and pick up the remainder of the bill on the day. I’m quite looking forward to it and haven’t mentioned the restaurant to either of them so hopefully they’ll be surprised. I bought a top for the bears I’d got gks for their birthdays with a voucher I’d received for joining a loyalty club, but that’s part of little ones birthday present which is the week before Christmas. Nothing I’d bought was heavy. I eventually got around to buying Christmas cards - I don’t do many these days but want to get them in the post this coming week. I’ve just got a t shirt and book to buy and that’s my presents done.
Dh followed me into town this afternoon and we had a cheeky mulled wine before heading home. The Christmas markets were so much better than they were at weekend.
I don’t know where the weeks are going.....I’ll be in for a shock if I do go into work on Wednesday...especially with cold dark mornings.

I went to hip doc yesterday. He mentioned a hip replacement will be needed but thinks he can delay it for awhile....there’s no way I’m having another op anytime soon if I can help it. He’s sending me for an MRI scan on 6th Jan and I see him the following week. He might give me an injection depending on the results- he thinks there might be a torn ligament which might need physio. So I think I’ve covered every option there :rotfl:

I went to arm hospital today - they’re really pleased with the range of movement and everything is healing and nothing has moved out of place whilst it’s healing :T. I asked him about work - I thought he was going to say no but he agreed if I do a 6 week phased return. I don’t go back to see him for 6 months...but need to continue with physio. He’s writing to my GP to say if needed he’s to give me more time off work....told me to back to get another sick note if my arm gives me any trouble. I didn’t get out until nearly 6 o clock so I text head teacher to tell her. I’ll phone in the morning to see what she has to say and when I go back....

I don’t think I’ll tell her a hip replacement has even been mentioned- just that I need certain mornings off for appointments because I’m having a bit of trouble with my hip, and leave it at that.

I’ve wrapped everything and written my Christmas cards - they have yet to reach a postpox but that’s pretty good for me as I’m never this organised. Just waiting for the restaurant vouchers to arrive. They’ve taken the cash so hopefully they’ll arrive soon.

I’ve flat iced and started decorating the Christmas cakes. Just simple snowflakes on them all and a snowman on the bigger cakes too.

I’m meeting my adoptive great niece at weekend and quite excited to see her.

Not much else to report. Some spendy days but I’ve checked bank balances and I can still pay in full which is a big bonus at this time of year. Previously unheard of :money::T:D
