HH he already has his pension - he could claim it when he was 65 last November. He has cut his hours down rather than paying loads in tax which he has been doing since he cashed it. He doesn’t fancy stopping full time yet though as he says he’d rattle around the house all week on his own. So he’s seeing how it pans out with the 3 days. He isn’t on a high wage and has a state pension with a works pension from where he worked until about 15 years ago when he was made redundant - his latest employers didn’t have a pension scheme until it came law within the last couple of years. We’re hoping he will come out around the same as when he was working full time but he’s not had a payday yet.

Yay :j looking forward to a long weekend. Nothing planned just seeing what unfolds....my favourite type of weekend.
At some point I need to do some tidying - dh hoovered the living room today....but he doesn’t see dust :rotfl:I’m sure he thinks that’s all I do - hoovered means tidied in his eyes. He has cooked tea which is smelling quite delicious- hopefully it’ll taste the same. I’ll not nag yet but give him a few more weeks then I might leave lists :rotfl:
The excitement at school was sky high. The year I work with are going to Hadrian’s Wall on Tuesday when I go back. I’m gutted I’m not going....the arm op has a lot to answer for

I went to SW this morning and was really pleased and surprised to lose the 2 lb I put on last week....just need to loose the 3 I put on last week and I’ll be back to where I was.
A lady there does a lot of fundraising for a cancer charity near here and is doing a fundraiser including supper this evening so we’ve decided give it a go- not sure what it’ll be like. I’ve noticed how much more sociable dh has become recently. He’s been going to some groups called University of the 3rd Age - it’s doing him a power of good - plus he’s probably not as tired. Long may it last :rotfl:
Disadvantage is it won’t be a low spend day. BUT I won a load of tinned food this morning in the raffle at SW - I won it a couple of weeks away too - just wish I could win the lottery....January spends - £587.580 -
Good to hear DH is enjoying his shorter working week and getting out more. Good to hear finances are healthy which is always a bonus.
Look forward to a visit to the park in the summer to meet up. No news on the arm yet though ? Is it worth giving them a call to see how far up the list you are ?Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
I'm glad DH seems more relaxed and is getting out to U3A, my aunt and uncle go to events they organise and seem to enjoy it
.
Well done on the weight loss and the raffle win.

SSG I’m going to ring them next week some time as it’s obviously not going to be April
I suspect they’ll give me the usual ‘it’s out of out hands - the bed managers decision’ They did say April/May last time I rang though and we’re only the 1st week of May.
HHD it’s so good to see him relaxed and socialising.
Well I had a great time last night at fundraiser. We took our own drinks so no expense there and it was £7.50 each which included 2 games of bingo and supper - we even had third helpings of hotpot and 2nds of pudding - plus a fivers worth of raffle ticket between us. It was all run by the ladies family in a church hall - they were characters to say the least - much laughing and tom-foolery was had by all. £550 was raised for the charity.
We went to a local(ish) NT place today but this one irks me a little as it’s jointly owned by council and you have to pay to park £7:eek: - out of principle we park in town outside park and walk in - there was a May festival with markets and a fair which was a nice surprise in said town. It’s a good walk in but a nice walk beside deer, sheep and a lake. We went around the gardens - they have an amazing Japanese garden - think it’s my favourite of all I’ve been in. Sat and had a coffee before walking back and then ds treated us to Wethersp00ns for tea. A good day - I’m worn out now though 8 miles over the day but it wasn’t hilly at all:D
So nice weekend and relatively little spends on my part :money::j
Last of Line of Duty tonight - I’ve been gripped.January spends - £587.580 -
Another fan of Line of Duty.

Mmm....not sure what I thought about Line of Duty Beanie...raised more questions than answers for me. I think I might go back and watch from series 1 when I’m off work (got it on dvd)
Just watching Victoria on catch up but I can’t get into it as much as previous series.
Might nip to the garden centre and look at some bedding plants later. All my daffies look a mess in my pots at the front door...my Christmas tree is looking more like a dead branch that a tree. Can’t complain it cost me £10.99 and I’ve had 4 years out of it but it’s time for it to go to the big Christmas tree compost heap in the sky....January spends - £587.580 -
Your day out at the NT place sounds really good Milann and glad you had fun at the fundraiser
