  • It's a good idea to get the house organised before your operation as you will find it frustrating being able to do less for a while.

I'm sure your children will really miss you :).

NSD today - I’m end of week tired - I’ve had a couple of night where I’ve been wide awake from 4am. Think I might take a cuppa to bed and read my book.

So dh has been to UTA groups again - he took the ukulele up a year or so ago and has been having a weekly lesson (I was quite surprised as he’s never shown any interest in music and nuff said about his sense of rhythm :p - we nearly ended up in the divorce courts when we tried dancing lessons years ago :rotfl::rotfl:) anyway he’s stuck at it and found 2 UTA ukulele groups and although not brilliant at it is able to keep up with some of the tunes and has been for coffee afterwards and seems to really enjoy it.

I’ve had another NSD today. Not much planned for the weekend I feel I need to do something but I don’t quite know what - I feel quite unsettled- as if I need to do lots but I don’t quite know where to start or what I need to do :o

I belong to our local U3A and funnily enough someone wanted to start a ukulele group in our area too. Not sure how many takers they got though. I already belong to the walkers groups and garden group so no time to do any others. Think I will stick with the piano ;) Maybe your DH has just decided to try something new. Good on him.

I love your spur of the moment weekend you had , how exciting. Hope the op goes ahead on the expected day and then you can get on with things. Keep me in the loop . I am guilty of buying the GKs stuff as well. Have a good weekend.

Dh is really enjoying his ukulele sessions and going out for a coffee with them afterwards which I’m pleased about. He’s been doing bits in the garden and it’s beginning to look less neglected. And I’ve had tea cooked for me every Thursday and Friday since he’s been off.

I’ll keep you in the loop Sunshine Girl.

I’ve had times around hospital appointments where I’ve not slept at all then been ok again. I’ve also been either really hot or really cold in the night for some time now and that has an impact on my sleep but a few weeks ago I started a treatment which has had an unexpected impact on this and I’ve generally slept a bit better recently.

I had told dh I wasn’t going anywhere today as wanted to tidy up - I’d hoped he’d go to his train club but he didn’t- I’m getting nothing done since he’s reduced his hours - think he thinks it’s holiday time every long weekend now:rotfl: and that his hoovering in the middle of the living room is sufficient ;)....anyway I started doing the living/dining room. Once I’d started I realised how bad it was so have given it a proper ‘spring clean’ - sorted cupboards and drawers, polished brasses, washed ornaments, cleaned windows and wiped blinds, used leather cleaner and cream on my suite and wiped paintwork. I’ve had to take extra painkillers as my arm knows it’s been used a lot. I was going to do it once I break up next week but it’s done now and I can keep on top of it. I’m aiming to do a room at a time properly before I go in.... at one time I’d have done all the downstairs one day and upstairs the following day - can’t believe it’s taken me all day to do it. Dh made soup for lunch and spag bol for tea - so I was quite pleased he stayed at home. - he is a guddun :A

I lost the 2lb I put on last week again at SW - still got 3 to go to get back to my 1/2 stone award I was so pleased with, but if I hadn’t kept going I’d have been another half stone (at least) heavier by now as I’m a very emotional picker....can’t stop stuffing my face when I’m anxious :o

Tomorrow’s plan is spring cleaning my bedroom and the bathroom. That way I’ll be able to do some nice things in the holidays.

Spring cleaned the bathroom and my bedroom - switched to the lighter weight quilt and I’ve decided to buy some new curtains - this time I’ll get blackout ones. I bought blinds a couple of years ago and have been so disappointed with them. I expected them to block the light out - not a chance. Because I’d bought blinds I only got thin, light coloured curtains - big mistake. I also painted the walls a pale grey/purple colour. I thought it’d grow on me but it hasn’t at all - I find it quite depressing. So I’m going to visit Dunelm one evening after work to look at some navy curtains and try and find a quilt with blue/pink design. Hopefully it’ll pull my other bits in the bedroom together. Oh and I plan to paint the walls white. Not sure when but that’s the master plan :p

  • It's a good idea to get black out curtains, the light always wakes me up. Also if you don't like the colour of the walls then it will be nice to change it. Our bedroom should be a relaxing sanctuary :).

You're being a very busy bee this weekend :).
