Planters are looking rather good even if I say so myself. Thought I was going to get rained off but it passed over.January spends - £587.580 -
I’ve had a refund of £150 as I took the downstairs curtains back but they will be purchased again at some point. I have spent wisely though.January spends - £587.580

Finished my book in bed this morning having a cuppa which Mr m brought before he went to work. I was totally engrossed in it and feel quite sad it’s come to an end. The friend with the brain tumour was telling me about this particular book - she was saying how good she felt now she can read again - her sight and concentration had meant she couldn’t for quite a long time before the op but she has virtually perfect vision now. She is going back to work part time after the holidays. Anyway I digress, she knew I had a condition in my family which causes bones to break easily- the story had a character with the same condition (albeit more severe strain than we have) so the book was very close to home and was very thought provoking for me. So now I need an easy book that I don’t need to think about but is uplifting. I shall hang on to the book and read again at some point.
I did most of my jobs except no7 - the window and window ledge plus I did the dreaded cutlery drawer. I shall carry on blitzing kitchen tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s jobs
Job 1 - clean remaining cupboards and sort/clean contents.
Job 2 - tidy and clean drawers
Job 3 - clean cooker
Job 4 - clean cooker hood
Job 5 - clean tiles and cupboard fronts
Job 6 - clean bins
Job7 - clean window ledge and window
Job 8 - clean floor
Job 9 - poor large glass of something nice - sit - relax
I’ve just been around to Morrison’s £30 and most of it cleaning stuff. But I’m stocked up with heavy things I’ll struggle carrying after op. I’m getting organised 👍January spends - £587.580 -

Well I managed to get my jobs done - I had a slight distraction at the garden centre part way through the day - I looked around at the contents of my kitchen strewn over every surface and made a quick escape until the drawers and cupboards were dry enough to put things back.
I had a few plants left from when I did my tubs so came up with the idea of making a planter up for my friend who is 60 soon - plus tickets for a local show to see the Drifters - we have seen them many times over the years so a trip down memory lane, singing and I’ll treat her to tea out too. So I wanted a cheapish terracotta pot so I can give her something on her birthday. The garden centre wanted a fiver...it was only an ordinary 8 inch pot. I think I paid 3 for a fiver when I got mine a few years ago. So I went to B&Q on my way home and bought virtually the same thing for £2.50. So I’ve planted a nice pot with my left over plants and compost for less than a bunch of flowers. I’m hoping it’s in full bloom and not past it’s best for her birthday in July.
I had a sandwich and cuppa whilst out but it was the break I needed and I came home and finished the kitchen - took me until gone 8 last night then I took myself to bed with a cuppa and Corrie.
I’ve just been and had my hair cut - it feels a tad short but I asked her to cut it short then I can just let it dry without using a hairdryer when I’m 1 handed.
Off to SW - not sure WHY - all I’ve done is scoff myself silly. But she won’t charge me for a while when I’m out of action and by then my head should be in the right place to tackle things again.
After that I’m going to start on my bedroom curtains.January spends - £587.580 -
So put 1 1/2lb back on..... It is what it is - feeling more focussed than I have in a while though as I feel I’m getting on top of things in the house and life doesn’t feel as daunting. Giving the weight loss my best shot this week - I’d like to lose 2 lb next week to get me under the next stone - where I was a few weeks ago.January spends - £587.580

I went for new pre op yesterday. They didn’t say much except op would be 3 hours and although they’re aiming to be done as a day case - go prepared to stay in overnight.
We went onto seaside place with big tower afterwards. The weather looked a bit rubbish so we went to the outlook village just beyond....Mmmm.....bit of a mistake! I bought some shoes for a wedding I’m going to in August and a lightweight waterproof coat. We worked out today my old waterproof was bought as a present 12 years ago :eek:so it didn’t owe me anything. This new one was £25 and is Gortex so hopefully should be ok. I went into the Cadbury shop.....120 Freddo and 12 curly Wurly bars later:o:o - it was a bogof. I’m planning on making some ‘treat’ boxes with 10/12 sw syns in so I don’t feel deprived or if I’ve totally blown it....but I didn’t need that many..... Don’t know what’s up with me - cash is just running through my fingers atm. I think it’s because I know I won’t be able to drive or get myself out for a while. We went to opposite side of seaside place later in the day as I’m not keen on the centre of the town as it gets too busy. Lol last of the big spenders when it comes to gambling - I had £1 of 2ps between myself an dh and we spent a pleasant half hour on machines on the pier- and we ended up with 20p left to go in my change money box:p. We ate out and I chose a chicken salad:T:A:T
Ds came around today and we went to a NT place - it’s only 6 miles away so we go quite often. Since we last went they have installed a lift so ds could get around everywhere easily. It’s an old cotton mill and he could access some if it before by going in and out by different entrances but I was really impressed in the upgrade. They’ve also done one of the gardens up- very pleasant to sit and eat an ice cream. I was so tired though - we came home rather than having our usual walk through the woods.
This evening we went to out local little town where the market hall has been converted to a food place with lots of little outlets - it’s only been open a couple of months and there’s been a lot of controversy concerning it.... I’ve heard varying reports about it. But I really enjoyed myself - there was a singer playing popular songs on his guitar - felt like we’d had a nice evening out. We had some lovely tapas and some cheeky Bacardi found its way into my cola - very tasty tooso I’ve had my treats for the weekend now - must be good tomorrow as I was yesterday.
One lot of curtains are up in my back window in my bedroom and I’d planned to do the front window today but I had a better offer with ds coming around. Hopefully I’ll do front window tomorrow. Ive got a friend coming on Tuesday and I’m meeting friend on Wednesday to go and see her hubby in care home - then it’s just doing some batch cooking and generally keeping on top of the house ready for a week on Monday when I go in.January spends - £587.580
