I hope your arm is feeling better milann and that you hear from the hospital soon. It must be so annoying waiting in limbo for a response. Sorry to hear that your friend hasn't improved - though he sounds like he's in excellent care. You must be pleased though that Mr milann has decided to take heed and reduce his hours at work and have some more time to enjoy life. I must say your money pots are going well. It's nice to feel in control. Have a good week!:D xFinally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hi Milann . I've just read all of this diary from the beginning
. Your life is a bit of a rollercoaster like mine. But I've really enjoyed readiing your diary as there is something very hygge about it
. I think it's because despite your ups and downs you are so positive, have a great sense of humour and have such lovely outings with your family.
You've done so well to become debt free, twice :T. You should post on the debt free roll of honour so you get your special debt free badge. I'm very proud of mine.
I'm really sorry to hear about your friend who has dementia and now a stroke. I hope you hear about your operation soon, but you're right to try and live life to the full and not waste time waiting to live. Sometimes we just need to be grateful that we are alive.

Hi Hh - well you’ll sleep well tonight if you’ve ploughed through my drivel
Yes it’s been a roller coaster but I’ve learned a lot along the way. When I think of the money I’ve wasted.....I’ve got masses of craft stuff I need to get around to using, all stuff I NEEDED there and then - a chest full of wool (although in fairness I was working my way through that when I injured my arm - now I can’t knit or crochet) - I can’t remember the last time I bought any though :money:
I’m just watching Treasures of The National Trust and it’s showing one of my local haunts 1/2 an hour from me - Dunham Masssey. We went a year or so ago when it was made into the military hospital - we walk round the deer park every couple of months though. It’s always busy but relaxing in the same way. It’s quite nice seeing somewhere you know on TVJanuary spends - £587.580 -
SSG I can’t tell you how good it feels not to be on catch up with my cc. I have a Mr T cc card which buy most things with, I save vouchers use for meals out but for a long, long time I’ve been in arrears with myself - waiting for my wage to go in the bank before I paid it in full. This is the 1st month for as long as I can remember I can pay it off if I want to the day it arrives - without waiting for payday. I actually feel debt free now and it feels good. So I will post on the debt free roll of honour as you suggested HH
SW wise so far so good this week - need to keep it upJanuary spends - £587.580 -
It's best not to look back and say "what if", you should always start from where you are and look forward. There's a lot of life in us yet and we can make our future the best it's possible to be
.
I love National Trust places. I'd like to visit them all one day and get my money's worth. If I did one a day I might manage it :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

HH I’d like to do them all too HH. My dd lives down on the South coast and the last few time we’ve stayed we have visited a different place on our way home - making a day of it - as well as local ones and when we go on holiday. I’d like a big map to mark them on.
I’m a bit gutted as I should have been going to Hadrians Wall for a couple of nights with school next week but had to drop out because I’m waiting for this blooming operation. Ah well - at least I’ll miss the sleepless nights and early mornings when the kiddywinks wake up.January spends - £587.580 -

I've never thought of a map, that's a brilliant idea, you could put a pin in for each one you've visited. We managed to go to Chartwell (Winston Churchill's home) in Kent when we dropped DS3 at uni which was really interesting

I've mainly been to the SW ones too, but when I stay with my dad I get to visit a few different ones. Last year we went to Stowe Gardens and Waddesdon Manor which were really good. My favourite SW ones are Cotehele, Greenway, Coleton Fishacre and Overbecks Botannical Gardens.

HH we went to Chartwell too travelling home from dds I found it really interesting, never been to any of the others you mentioned. I’ve been to quite a few in Cornwall Llanhydrock (sp) was one of my faves and Castle Drogo as we were travelling down there. My ds has become a member and he’s been driving us to lots of places within a couple of hours drive from here. I like to get value for my membership.
I’m starting logging my spends over May to keep an eye on them. £27 in Mr Ms today on fruit, milk and veg plus a new cookery book Pinch of Nom fell into my basket £10 I didn’t need to spend on a book I didn’t need but I’ll enjoy readingand should cook some of the food too rather than letting it sit on the shelf:o
I’m just enjoying a quiet hour whilst dh is at work.....he will be in the rest of the week when I get in. He looks so much more relaxed though.January spends - £587.580
