I don't think you're sad at all with regard to happiness over the slippers! I find it excruciating hard to find comfortable fashionable footwear. Apart from the M&S slippers I seem to get all my other footwear from Evans and Marisota as they cater for bigger, wide feet and are reasonably priced. Still it was probably just as well that I've never been able to get into designer footwear for years - the debt amount would probably been a lot higher!:D
Another hoping that you hear soon on the op.

RETIRED: MAY 2021!!!!😀🎆
My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”0 -
The wonky feet and ankles that go over are the bane of my life. I’m dreading having to come out of my ankle boots which do give me an element of support. One downside of nice weather.
I bought some sandals a couple of summers ago which enabled me to put orthotic inserts in - I’d not worn sandals for years before I found these - I’m hoping I might get another year out of them as they were over £100 - I wear them most days in the summer and I only know 1 shop that sells them....mmmm...must search them out tomorrow .
I’ve had a lazy day again today - dh has been pottering in the garden - I was getting my knickers in a twist because I tried helping and hurt my arm a bit - nothing drastic but dh noticed me holding it and made me stop. I did however bring some of his miniature houses from his railway in and am repainting them - radio on and patio doors open to get the fresh air - it’s too hot for me to sit out in - so quite therapeutic - I’m just having a rest. It’s driving me mad - I do like the railway in the garden but it’s been neglected recently and because I’m not able to do as much as I used to - I can see all the faults nobody else notices.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow- we’re heading to Snowdonia for the day - I love that area of the worldJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Maybe we won’t be going to Snowdonia after all.....ds said he’d treat us on the train up Snowdonia for Christmas about 3 years ago....we’ve tried several times to go but the weather has been against us each time with trains only running part way. - we want to go to the top.....so we thought we’d try tomorrow....trains don’t run to the top until May. I’d have thought they’d have cashed in on the good weather and bank holiday as May is only a couple of weeks away.
We will go out somewhere but not sure where.January spends - £587.580 -
We went to Snowdonia after all and had a lovely walk around a lake at the base of Snowdon near to where you’d get the train. The firstpart of the walk was lovely - really flat and the views were amazing. However we decided to try and follow a route around the whole lake - big mistake :rotfl: the terrain underfoot was very rough and it was up and down like a fiddlers elbow. My ds had to go back as it was inaccessible for his chair....we decided to carry on and meet him back at the carpark as we must have virtually completed the circuit. My leg wasn’t coping with the hills and I honestly didn’t think I’d make it - but I did :T:T so I had a tremor back in my leg which was pretty scary. We did the last bit of the walk along the miniature train line rather than the path (the trains weren’t running by then) and I climber over a gate to get out :rotfl::rotfl: I kept expecting to get done for trespass (there were lots of people walking along it though)
We travelled along one of my favourite roads between the mountains- just awesome and stopped at a little Welsh town where we had fish and chips on our way home.
I fully understand why the train up the mountain doesn’t run as there were still snow drifts visible up in them there mountains and hills - even with yesterday’s temperatures.
So today I’m having a lazy day- lamb about to go in the oven to cook and I’m not moving out of the house as I’m a tad stiff. Still got the tremor in my leg if I stand too much so I’m listening to my body. The doc did say I might always have the tremor after the nerve damage but it’s mainly ok day to day - just show s I don’t push myself too often
Happy Easter everyone :EasterBun:EasterBunJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Well my Easter walk in Snowdonia took it out of me more than I’d realised - I’ve been absolutely shattered, my leg has trembled, I’ve had weird blotches around my legs (which I get from time to time when I’ve been on my feet a lot) they’re beginning to go down a bit - no idea what causes it - not sore, not itchy- just looks a mess. Doc didn’t seem to know what it was several years ago when I visited. I called in pharmacy last summer when it happened and she said it was burst blood vessels under my skin which actually makes sense by the way they look. No rhyme nor reason to it happening.
Been back to work today - I could have happily stayed off but enjoyed it once I was there. I miss the children over the holidays. There’s never a dull moment.
I’ve had a few NSDs this week - trying to make up for my speedy week previously. Need to pay my cc bill tomorrow and my car insurance is due next month. Should get the quote any day now...January spends - £587.580 -

You did a fairly long walk there milann , no wonder your legs are complaining. Hope you have recovered now from that. Painting the little houses sounds very therapeutic, and the railway line even better.
Have a good weekend .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
I agree with SG - that was quite a walk you took on! hope you're feeling back to normal now. Must have been lovely though up in the mountains - quite envious!
Well done on the NSDs,
Have a good one this weekend.

It’s taken a week for me to get over my expedition in Snowdon - anyone would think I’d have scaled the mountain instead of a walk around the lake where half was totally flat the rest quite hilly but not mountainous at all :rotfl::rotfl: I’ve been so tired. It was good to be back at work Beanie and SSG I need to pace myself and remember the spinal bleed did affect me - remember I’m not a mountain goat and my leg objects to hills and uneven ground. SSG you’ll have to come and see the railway for yourself when I’m off work.
This week I’ve paid my cc.....’innnn fulllll’ and have enough to pay my next one without waiting for payday so don’t feel I’m in catch up mode. My insurance and car recovery and due in May - I usually have to pay my cc over a couple of months when they are due but it’s looking good despite having had a spendy month this month after paying for a big family meal, being an indulgent grandma:D and sil birthday present. I’m over the moon:beer: I feel as if I’m getting there....at last:money:
Next task is to set up a savings account - I’ll do some research.
I’ve felt a bit bleugh recently as I’d thought the hospital might have been in touch as they said the end of April/May - I want to get my arm sorted - it’s been quite sore recently. I am hoping to be fit enough to travel to Cornwall and find a cheap place to stay (if such a thing exists) mid June - each time we went there to the caravan we saw a Sea Shanty festival advertised for the week I returned to school - if they do my arm soon I should be ok to travel and see it.....but I can’t plan anything until I know what’s happening. It’ll be my surprise treat for dh as he really looks after me well.
Still waiting on the inheritance too:(
Dh came home last Wednesday and said he’d be off from now on Thursday and Friday.....I think they’d have gone on forever at work letting him do a full week so he took matters in his own hands - he will be flexible if needs must. He looks more relaxed than I’ve seen him in a long time.
We went to see friend who had the stroke - he has moved to a nursing home which seems very homely - not the poshest I’ve seen but the staff are lovely and it’s spotless. He’s not fully aware of what’s happening and talked a lot of nonsense most of the time - it’s heartbreaking to see. The money they are charging - it’s frightening as to quite how bad you have to be to able to access funding for the nursing you might need.He has no use in 1 side of his body, doubly incontinent, little sight, he can say words which aren’t always audible but non of them make any sense, has pur!ed food and can’t do anything for himself - has been told he needs nursing but apparently doesn’t need enough nursing to qualify for funding. His wife is at her wits end and doesn’t know how long she can fund him there and what’ll happen when her funds run dry.
I think friends situation has spurred dh on to make the decision to finally reduce his hours and have some fun and relaxation.
Yesterday the weather was just dire - rain and wind all day. I expected the same today but this afternoon was quite bright so we made the most of it and went to out local NT park - it’s where they filmed Mr Darcy walking out of the pond....we walked around the lovely gardens and had an ice cream before heading home. We were only out a couple of hours but it was lovely. Dh cooked a roast dinner - I’ve not cooked since Wednesday as he’s done it allas he’s been home.
I could kick myself - I’d lost 1/2 stone at sw but because I’ve felt down in the dumps put 5 lb back on over the school holidays....it was like a light switch flicking to self destruct. So I’ve taken the dress I want to get into for summer and hung it face forward over all my clothes which are hung sideways - I’ll have to move it every time I want clothes out - hopefully that’ll sort me out. Although I suspect I’ll be the same until after I’ve had my arm done.....
