The Aldi near me - which I don't use because of people that park in non parking bays areas blocking people in, will be closed for a refurb later this month for 5-6 days. Anyone got an idea what they will be doing? They had a refurb 4 years ago

Completely agree! Some people rate Nescaf! but I can't stand it. Coffee is a very subjective choice.

I agree - that coffee is the worst

The newer Aldis have the upright chiller and freezer cabinets like newer Lidls and Waitrose.

There are also improved fruit & veg displays, if your store didn't get them at the previous refurb.

FWIW, Which? recently tested dishwasher tablets and although Fairy Platinum Original All in One did best at 86%, the Aldi Magnum All in One Complete weren't far off at 78%. The Lidl W5 All in One scored 71% but they didn't test any other Lidl product.

Best value, without a doubt - Aldi Magnum All in One Complete £3.29 for 40, though if I didn't have access to an Aldi I'd get the Lidl W5 All in One at the same price.

I doubt you'll find the best one (Fairy) at anywhere near these prices.

I recently did a product test for Fair Platinum, then went back to W5 All in one an noticed a marked decline in the cleanliness of my dishes (especially dried on tomato & tea).

Switched to Tesco own brand, but still a substandard wash.

Went back to Fairy, and everything was sparkling.

I'm now using up the w5 2 at a time to get a satisfactory wash.

Lidl Pittas - I like these as they have a long BBE date, but have noticed a few times that the breads have gone mouldy well before the expiry date.
Anyone else spotted this? I store them sensibly at home, so I'm wodering if it's a common issue.

My Lidl has got some self-service checkouts (awful system compared to the one used by Asda and Tesco).

    I dislike them too.

That seems to be one of the main differences between my local Lidl and Aldi. Lidl often has minimal staff (or none) at the tills and appear almost reluctant to open more. Aldi on the other hand watch queues very closely and open and close checkouts accordingly.

I found that happening with bread in general not just from Lidl and Aldi. We eat so little bread and most of it as toast that I now keep it all in the freezer and take it out when needed. It needs a little forward planning but far more mse.:money:

Had the same problem. We've started keeping them in the freezer. It's really easy to get one at a time and warm them up in a toaster as needed, but not so convenient if you're struggling with freezer space.

Is the mould in the same area on all the pitas? Could mean a tiny hole in the wrapper and goes mouldy by the hole.
