I don't work for Aldi, work in retail.

Today, I had two customers handing me the old fivers. I refused them and asked where they got them from. Both said Aldi which is ten mins walk away. I said they need to go back to Aldi to tell the manager to train their staff. Obviously at least one customer handed over the old fivers and were given back as change.

Had a tin of Aldi's plum tomatoes. Just one tomato in there with juice. This was the third one I had like this. I use other low price ones and I get loads

I've never known it either. Must be extremely bad luck! I've found both the plum and chopped tomatoes from Aldi to be extremely good quality with a nice thick tomato sauce. Certainly better than any other supermarket value ones.

I started doing the bulk of my shopping in Lidl and Aldi a few months ago and it's been great for saving money (I was shopping at Sainsburys before because it was closer to where I live).
    The good:
Both Aldi and Lidl's soya milks. They're a fraction of the price that other supermarkets are selling them for and the quality is fine.
Lidl's tissue cubes- closer to Kleenex than supermarket's own brands.
Lidl's cereal- not fortified, but still much cheaper.
Tins- generally great quality and the same price or cheaper as the other supermarkets.
Aldi's Hike bars. These are great for work. They also do a Paleo range but I only liked the macadamia and coconut one from that one.

    The bad:
The produce doesn't seem to be very fresh. I had some onions go mouldy on me and the bananas in Lidl didn't seem to be ripening properly, which probably means they were stored at the wrong temperature at some point.

Other than that, very happy with the place.

I can't speak for Lidl but I've rarely had a problem with fruit & veg purchased in Aldi. It certainly lasts a hell of a lot longer than anything I buy from the Co-op.
