Has anyone bought a phone from mobiles.co.uk? Some of the reviews aren't great so I was hoping for some opinions from people who have bought from them. Eg does the phone come when it is supposed to and also if I bought a phone on o2 would I still have an o2 online account or pay via mobiles.co.uk? Sorry if that's a silly question lol.

1) If you search the threads you will find hundreds of posts on them.
2) Usually.
3) O2.0 -
I've bought through them a few times previously, and currently have two contracts through them one on O2 other on talkmobile, and both accounts can be accessed via the respective network websites.0

Bought a number of phones on cash back deals through the years. Mobiles.co.uk are my preferred supplier. Their courier can be inflexible so choose an address that you can make work. Their phones tend to be unlocked.0

Thank you it's good to hear from people that have had direct dealings with them.0

It's owned by Dixons Carphone (Carphone Warehouse), so there's a big company behind it. e2save is a sister company.0 -
Essentially we ordered a new mobile + contract with o2, via Mobiles.co.uk, which is due to be delivered shortly, a couple of hours time in fact.
Since then, the original network have phoned back with a better deal, which we want to take up.
So, I'm trying to work out whether we'd be better to just refuse delivery and contact Mobiles.co.uk. Or to accept it, then go through the Mobiles.co.uk 14 day return procedure. (Which I assume is also what was the distance selling act.) The returns route I guess will only cost a few quid for a signed return delivery.
Any advice?0 -
refuse.
If you send it back yourself, it likely need to be special delivery due to the value of the phone.0 -
Hello all,
My name is Liesbeth, I have been on this website for a while. This is my first post on the forum as I have had some very dodgy dealings with mobiles.co.uk to the point where I am starting to think they may be fraudulent. They score 4.7/5 on reviews.co.uk - however my personal experience is very different from that. I would like to ask whether anyone else had any similar experiences with them and what their advice would be? Also, are they a reliable company or fraudulent indeed?
Last year I signed up for a cashback deal with mobiles.co.uk. I had not heard of them before but they seemed trustworthy from a search on the internet.
The first problem was the timing of the cashbacks - 5 in total. When I signed up, I received a letter with the dates I would be able to claim cashback. On the first date mentioned in the letter I logged onto their website. I then saw that the cashback dates on their online application are different from the dates in the letter. The first date in the letter is the third date on their online application. This meant that two cashback dates had already passed, costing me £135.
I complained to them over the phone and in writing, and never got a response.
The second problem is getting the money for the other cashback dates.
I submitted a cashback claim for January 2017 and never received a cheque.
I phoned and emailed numerous times and was fobbed off time after time: I had to allow more time for the cheque to arrive, they had to check with the banking department whether the cheque had not been paid out, the banking department had not come back to them yet, the colleague handling the claim was on annual leave, ... until finally 3 weeks ago they asked for my card details and confirmed they would pay.
I phoned them again three weeks later as no payment has come through yet. I got this man on the phone who told me I had to wait for 5 working days for the money to reach me. I told him that I had been waiting for three weeks already. He repeated that I had to wait for 5 working days and started reading their closure talk (we are mobiles.co.uk, you have been speaking to ..., you will receive an email with a short survey etc.)
I sent an email to complain about this ridiculous conversation and had a phone call back from customer services. As she ran through the security check the woman said she was going to put me on hold to check something. Instead of putting me on hold, she hung up and never called back. When I tried to call them back 15 minutes later, there was an automated message saying customer services was closed that day for training.
I received an email that they are going to send out another cheque as the payment to my card bounced back. This means I now have to wait another 8 weeks (the time it takes them to send out a cheque according to their website). I emailed back asking to cancel that cheque and try a payment to a different card instead (although there is absolutely nothing wrong with the first card). They phoned me back at 9 am on a Sunday morning (when their customer services isn't even supposed to be open) and left a message saying they did try but I did not answer the phone so they can't process the card payment.
I am not a paranoid person but this is starting to look like a systematic and concerted effort to avoid cashback payments.
Is there anyone out there who had similar experience with mobiles.co.uk and can give some advice please? I can put a complaint in writing, but from my previous experience they don't even reply to those. What is the best way to deal with this?0 -

It seems you haven't followed the groundrules. You SHOULD copy everything at the point of sale, work out exactly what bills you need to submit, follow up with a LBA if they start messing you around. They are CPW and I've had hundreds of cashback contracts via them and their CPW clones for myself and others. Never lost a single claim, but have had to sue on more than one occasion. If you don't know what you're doing and/or let them mess you around, they will. If you submit the correct bills at the right time and can prove you did they cannot get away without paying.
They aren't fraudulent, but they do sometimes try to get away with things - which they can't do if you don't let them.0 -
They are another brand under carephone warehouse, just have another cash back deal with them, no problem,Spend smart, and save more.0
