    Household (snooze zzzzzz)
Washing done and on line x 2 and chicken marinated

Shopped at Ald* before work, (loving that shop). Their free range chicken pieces are excellent. Also discovered they have great chocolate that comes in 25g bars and they are so cheap I could eat one a day if I wanted. I usually pay £2 for a 100g bar so £1.25 for 125g bar is a total bargain and the quality is good.

WFH so easy to keep the kitchen clear and dishes washed and dining/room/work room not to shabby either

    Thinking about money again…
Read up on micropayment. As the debt is daily interest it will get it paid off sooner.
Thinking of having a Money Monday where I review my spending and see if I can make a micropayment.

I am going to start getting serious with NSDs again. They help so much. I am going to start aiming for 12 NSDs a month or 3 a week on average

    The house
Emailed a friend who knows someone who may have builder contacts. It’s a long shot, but worth a try.

Some glasses for CS. They are very beautiful but if you drink from them the metal rim changes the taste of the drink. Dodgy. Also a few other items that bring no joy to go to the CS.

    Diary steals
Thinking of stealing Orange Ena’s idea of Face-Pack Friday for a pampering night when I catch up on rubbish TV and pamper, especially as not watching TV most evenings anymore

I was reading Muffintops diary and she wrote a lovely post about being in nature. I go to Kew sometimes, but I’ve been thinking about nabbing myself a wetlands centre membership (when I have a bit more money in August) and using it as a place to switch-off or reset myself when I get stressed out.

A good day for me. As soon as the work day ends I am off to do take my pocket money out as it’s Pay day!!! Yay!! :)

    Happy Wednesday :)

Thank you for the shout out DIA. I also very much agree with Orange Ena's face pack Friday for a pamper night, as these things show you that money doesn't have much effect on those lovely experiences and that there are things to do when it all feels a bit much, without needing to go on a spending binge.

Kew is amazing - and did you know if you join one of the other botanic gardens, which are cheaper, you get access to all of them including Kew? Worth doing if you go more than about twice a year.

Totally agree about Ald* chocolate :)

Thanks Beanielou and Rosa, nice to know I am not alone in choccie taste

A NSD today is planned, this will only be broken if after I work I go in search of shoes and find them immediately.

I ordered an Ocad* shop after all as they had an offer on with frozen fish, so what with that and my Ald* shop I am almost at my total spending for the month. I should hopefully survive just on super 6 and Lid* offers on fruit and veggies, so it may be okay. I looked at A and C organic veggies and if I can do a total order of £15 once a month I might do it. They have started a vegetable bundle for a reasonable price and they do amazing organic chicken carcasses that make lush chicken soup. The chicken livers are delicious added to a ragu too or fried with bacon and added to a salad with avocado. When I am debt free I will buy the actual chicken! :D

When I base my meals on veggies, with little bits of meat and some fish thrown in I feel and look better and it keeps my weight down

WFH, so making soup today, spicy adzuki bean, sweet potato and chorizo :)

I’m going to book a few days leave in June so I have a few days being creative interspersed with gardening. I can pocket my travel card money for that week and cycle.:)

I’m ahead with my gas so I’ll hold that payment too and pocket that money, both actions give me a little wriggle room as buying my (very pricey) face tint…

    3 good things

My friend I asked about a builder referral is making an enquiry on my behalf

I’ve been paid, seeing something in my account makes me feel less edgy

Touch wood, but I have controlled my migraines well this month without medication by taking action quickly and stepping back and resting

    Friday tomorrow? Can’t be bad.
Have a good day MSE folk :)

I wonder what is triggering your migraines. Both my daughter and I have to deal with migraines and have different triggers. Her's are MSG, red wine, and some pollens at specific times of the year. Mine are pollens and cats. I have been on weekly allergy shots for years and that has just about knocked mine out. We both can control ours, when they are definitely coming on, by taking half a pill of our medication. If it's still there, after thirty minutes, we take the other half. Works almost every time. If I'm just suspecting one coming, first symptoms, I can sometimes stop it with ibuprofen and rest. I do know how debilitating migraine can be and I have much much empathy for you! I'm glad you are finding your own ways of dealing with them.

Thanks milasaves, my migraine triggers are many and various, some are within my control and some are not, but if I am mindful I can (sometimes) squash a potential migraine before they squash me! I empathise with you and your daughter too. Migraine is the pits!

A busy day for me as I was working in the office.

Yesterday I went through my fridge and freezer and binned all the things that are not good for me. That was hard as I hate waste, but that food was a mistake to buy but I don’t see why I have to compound the mistake by eating it. Today I am in good blood sugar and back on track. I can tell because the constant hunger has gone. I’ve eaten healthily all day. :)

I sneaked a little bit of creative work into my day. It made me happy.:)

I used my pocket money to buy a chicken. I know, a bit sad, but it was a rare breed special one in Waitros*. It was a choice between some lovely chocolate £2.50 and a coffee at lunch time. Instead I got a free coffee, free paper and bought the chicken reduced from £10.50 to £6.00. It isn’t much more than I would have paid for coffee and chocolate and is better for me. It’ll be a treat with loads as veggies…I think about how I spend what I have all the time now, so much more aware.

It’s face-pack Friday and just realised I don’t have a face pack, :( will get one from Ald* during the week. I have their face cream with SP15. It’s great and £1.50 so I can have 2 one at home and 1 for on the go. It’s really good stuff too :)

I’ve been drinking a Rooibos Early Grey. I don’t take milk and this is a perfect naturally caffeine free tea for me, with this I can reduce my coffee consumption with ease. :)

    3 good things

    Earl Grey Rooibos tea :D

A friend has won a creative prize. She told me not to tell but now I’ve told you :D

    Bird song at dawn :D

Have a lovely weekend readers DIA x

What a good day for you! 'Twas nice hearing about what you are doing.

Reduced chicken is a definite yes please! when I find a good price. I blew my food budget this month on sale meat (see signature), but now I have it in my freezer and that saves me money in the long run. I'm eating so much better, than what I had been, in the last two months and have lost 8 lbs.:j

I've been enjoying iced tea with lemon and mint from a pot on my window sill...Mmmmm

    Have a wonderful weekend!
