I’m in better spirits today after giving myself a good talking to. Normal service has been resumed

This week’s veggies to create meals from are, purple sprouting broccoli and avocados. I’ll probably go for butternut squash and red onions too. Either Lidl or Aldi for 59p.
I can’t lie, I miss my Riverford veg box, especially now Summer is upon us. In August I might reintroduce this, but just once a month.
My debt is now £19,822, so since February I have paid £2,000 off my debt and I am in the teens :T:j
WFH, so dishes and kitchen stayed on top of and dining/work room tidied up too
3 good things
I used my morning well. I went to my gym. I put clothes in the washing machine and all before my day at work started
I woke up naturally without my alarm, so much nicer than being jolted awake. I always think I might oversleep when I do this, but never do
I washed and hung my duvet cover outside and I will use it tonight with the ‘fresh air’ smell trapped in
Happy Tuesday MSE folk

So wonderful that you are in the teens debt wise! Looking at a 1 is so much less scary that a 2.
The fact that you do not have a mortgage is fantastic. £2000 since Feb. amazing!:T:T:beer:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

You must surely have come across 20p on the pavement? It shows up once you start looking for it... I think there might be a 'roadkill' challenge on here somewhere. I always wonder about whether people will think I'm weird for picking up pennies, but in practice I think they probably didn't notice it in the first place and so won't have seen what coin I'm picking up!
A sweep fund or 50p jar might be other options

Doesn't that also mean that you have paid off 9% of your original debt?
That sounds pretty good too

Brilliant work DiA.. And so glad you're feeling more focussed and chipper.
I save every £2 I can get my hands on. I save my 'chocolate' money(I think it looks like a sweet!) in a jar and so far have £44 I think. Ready for a future treat

Hello DIA,
You're still doing so well, but I agree that you need those monthly treats to make things feel a bit more worthwhile. Have you any colleges near you where you could volunteer to be a model for their manicure/pedicure classes? You could potentially get 2 or 3 bookings there for the price of 1 salon booking?
Oh also, if you can't get to then dentist, just floss as much as possible. It kept my teeth from needing any work when I had problems visiting the dentist (for over a year!!!).

I'm going to combine you and brizzleds suggestion and start a 50ps and £2s jar. Just £2 coins would be hard but if I don't have one I'll have the other (most of the time) Thanks!RosaBernicia wrote: »

Thanks MT. The posh pedicure is because it has to be done by a podiatrist for work to pay. But you are right and come August (when available money increases slightly) I will sign up with a college for other beauty treats.MuffinTops wrote: »Hello DIA,

Re my teeth, yes I will keep flossing and maybe stretch my hygienist's appointment a bit. I'd hate my teeth to suffer

DIA, I go to the dental hygienist every four months and it is fine. My mother never had her teeth cleaned in her life and she died never having a cavity either. She brushed three times a day. Good oral hygiene is all that is required.
You will be fine if you brush and floss twice a day.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thanks milasaves. It's partly genetics and good oral hygiene but what if I told you neither my mother nor my gran had teeth after the age of 50 due to gum disease? That's why I am super careful. I floss daily and all that...We just don't have good teeth, or gums in our family so the hygienist likes to see me every 3 months, but yes, 4 months this time shouldn't make much differencemilasavesmoney wrote: »DIA, I go to the dental hygienist every four months and it is fine.
