Read it all. Your progress is fantastic. Am here to cheer you on your way! :T

I too am now beginning to use my bike and the train to get to work, partly as it's cheaper, but also to get some exercise which is badly needed and doesn't involve a gym membership. Your days WFH sounds good as well.

    Have a great Sunday

    Oh thanks brizzlefw,

I've literally just posted on your diary. Thank you for the lovely comments :) I was feeling a bit down, so you've given me a lift and reading your diary has fired me up with lots of ideas. You have a great Sunday too!

It's a pleasure and you write really well (as others have said) which makes enjoying your diary much easier ;)

Hope the gardening goes well. The sun is finally peeking through now and my mood always lifts as a result.

I like your decisions made from yesterday's post, especially about aging your money. I might have to try that.

Just spent a lazy Sunday afternoon reading your very interesting diary. I can definitely see lots of progress from when you first began. I have subscribed.

It shouldn't be too expensive to get you hall light fixed. Does it just not work when you flip the switch or are you putting in a new fixture? If it's at the switch then your neighbor, who was going to do your gutters, would probably know how. You could even watch YouTube videos and do it yourself. It's actually very simple.

Love your meal plan posts. I have my DD3 and his girlfriend coming in a few weeks and she has been vegetarian for years. Your posts give me lots of great ideas...I was a bit stumped.

You have done brilliantly with your cutbacks. I'm really liking your determination and your getting back to your plan quickly when you wander off a bit. Great job!!

Milasaves Thank you for taking the time to read my diary and commenting so positively. The lighting is just the switch. I think it might just have tripped but I have an old fusebox with wire for amps, also I was once electrocuted, it pushed me to the floor and since I won't touch electrics. The neighbour would do it but he has a 'thing' for me so I don't mind him doing outside the house jobs, but I wouldn't be comfortable with him inside...more concerned about the water upstairs to be honest :o I'll get it done In August when I have a little more available income :)

Orange Ena Thank you, I'm fine...2 days to pay day now. That always cheers me up :)

Brizzled, Thank you. Gardening was good, although there is an awful lot to do. I've found I enjoy the time when the sun has set but not yet dark for gardening :)

Rosa oops to the mobile phone mishap :( and yes organisation is key. Also, things should be a little more elastic come August, so just need to get there...Thank you x :)

So many nice comments over the past few days from inspirational people. Thank you, it’s nice to feel part of something bigger and feel appreciated.

I had a bitty day today. Washing on the line and turkey and feta burgers made. I rolled them in seeds and they were delicious. I was a bit heavy-headed. I slept for 40 minutes in the afternoon and woke feeling clearer. I really wanted chocolate today. :( Instead I went on the Ald* site and identified the chocolate I will buy when I next shop there.

I’m going to get rid of this debt no matter what and I can either do it kicking and screaming, resisting and moaning my way to debt free freedom, or I can be positive and find a way to enjoy this. I’m sure I’ll have regular moaning, negative times ahead but I won’t stay in that place as it’s not helpful.

    So, the new plan is:
    1.
I am going back to 3 positive things. This helps me notice the good things that happen, every. single. day. This will help me stay up…:)
    2.
I will be exercising more and watching TV less :)
    3.
I am going to save my 2 NWDs as days for resting, being creative and staying home-based. This helps me feel less stressed :)
    4.
I am returning to having fresh flowers in the house, even branches and buds or branches will do. This lifts my spirits :)
    5.
I’m getting anxious partly because I have no savings so no buffer so I am going to start saving £5 a week somewhere in the house :T
    6.
I ‘m getting anxious because my passport is out of date and loved ones live abroad and I need to be able to leave in an emergency, however I don’t have emergency flight money when I think about it, so both need tackling. I can’t begin to address this until August but it helps to name this fear until then. :o
    7.
It’s feeling like a struggle so I must find a way for a monthly big treat. This month I have booked a luxury pedicure. I will get this money back from work, they pay some dentists costs too (but I’ve used up that budget) Anyway, the pedicure is booked. It’s in a very beautiful place so I will have a coffee there too and take a Ald* truffle with me. Having beautiful feet will make me feel good for the launch party. :D
    8.
I’m going to buy a few edibles for the garden, so I’m getting the garden ready. I think a girl called Jack used to buy the plants from the supermarket and just plant them outside. I might try it with the plants that only last one season with me like basil. I also want berries growing. Garden will take some work to get it back but I’ve been digging, also good for the spirits. :)

I am also going to spend one week’s spending money on my much missed Mac face tint as I am feeling shabby again. :)

Tomorrow I’m swimming before work and WFH

    3 good things

    I have a garden :)
    I can WFH twice a week :)
    I have enough. I really do. :)

    Happy Monday
    DIA x

I noticed a very big difference in your posts when you put being creative into your schedule. Your mood was very different. This must be a very rewarding activity for you. We all need to think about what things reward us in our lives. Quite inspiring!

    Hi DIA

I have not had much luck with planting supermarket herbs, they are grown on very fast and I think in quite artificial conditions so are not always robust for living out. If you are going to try it then I would keep them in the house for a while til they have adjusted.

Alternatively, seeds are cheap and some of the pot herbs aren't fussy about timing. You might still be able to grow some this summer. I did wonderfully well with stuff from the Real Seed Company when I had a proper garden and they are not very expensive, especially as their germination rate is SO much better than other seeds so you can sow less. (I miss my veg patch!)

A monthly treat sounds like a very good plan, and I agree about an emergency fund for abroad too. Can you maybe find tiny things to go towards that for now - found money, online surveys?

Such a good point Milasaves and one I will take note of. I do know the things that reward me in life but earning money takes me away from that sometimes. I shall keep trying to prioritise my creative work. Thank you. :)

Thanks Rosa. I will definitely acclimatise the herbs from the SM if I find any reduced. I have seeds but may be a little late. I'll see what I can come up with :)

Found money? I have never found money in my life! I might start a little fund just so I feel I am doing something about the emergency flight and new passport money :)
