The miracle is I didn’t go into overdraft this month and so incur no fees, this is despite having started spending on Thursday when my true payday is today. I did however keep track of my spending. I start this salary with a £69.70 debit due to authorised transactions. That’s a lot. :o The plan is to have the whole of my salary to distribute this month and not start with a minus figure.

OK, I am so on my budget this month and instead of panic meal planning as my fund rapidly disappear I am meal planning every single week

I am doing my intermittent fasting so start eating at midday so I am not meal planning for breakfast

I faced up to the scales this morning I can’t bear to post my weight so I won’t. It’s bad, but it isn’t as bad as I thought. I think I might have lost a few pounds already as I have been doing IF for a few days and I have no mad desire for chocolate at the moment and that is MOST unusual ;)

I am posting my weight in code so I am able to monitor it. I will weigh every Monday morning and post my weight loss/gain/stay same figures.

I am Z:11.5 and I want to aim for Y:7 as my next target. At Y:7 I look so much better. That is 1 stone 4.5 pounds to lose. I should be able to lose 7lbs in both May and June and 4.5lbs in July. That is 1-2lbs a week and should be achievable.

I should hit my mini target even allowing for a few slip-ups, by mid August then I will reevaluate.

I did my eyebrows and they look great —one of my favourite £3 spends. I must remember that and budget so I can do them once a fortnight :)

I have new shoes and tights and undies. The shoes came in under budget :)

I had a lovely coffee and the girl in Nero gave me an extra stamp on my card :)

I finally visited Ald*. I cycled there. I am so impressed with their super six and I got some very fresh sweet potatoes for just 75p. I think their produce is better than Lid*I. I now have enough shopping to see me through until I go away :T

My 3 actions were to buy my shoes, do my eyebrows and buy undies and I did all 3 :T
I didn't get my haircut but I will do a hair pack and cut my hair later in the week...
I might be having a hard time but at least now I won't look like I'm having a hard time :rotfl:

    Meal plan until Scotland

    Seven lunches

Quinoa, red onion, salmon, avocado, rocket, stuffed olives, boiled egg, and tahini sauce with seeds and raisins X1

Feta, cucumber, red onion, rocket, stuffed olives, adzuki beans and quinoa with herbs and toasted seeds X2

Feta, walnuts, garlic green beans, olives, toasted seeds, adzuki beans and quinoa X1

2 apples, 2 oranges, handful of walnuts, carrot sticks, a chunk of sheep’s cheese X1

Flat grilled garlic mushrooms with goats cheese, avocado, red onion and broccoli X1

Thanks Rosa, :A I am going to keep posting about food :)

I am also going to use the Flylady site. I was using the flylady thread on here before and although they are lovely, perhaps they are a little too advanced for me

I looked at the flylady thread on here and it scared me  so I went back to the original:rotfl:

I threw away my old boots today because I have new shoes and the boots were shabby and I’ve been quoted £12 just to heel them. They were purchased in the sale 2 years ago so they have served me well.

I’m keeping my old leather trainers for the gym until I get a new pair and then they can go too

I’ve had a day out of the house at work. I didn’t sleep well last night. I was literally thrown out of bed by agonising cramps along the length of my inner thighs. :( I couldn’t get back to sleep once they had died down. I have taken magnesium and I am well hydrated so it shouldn’t be repeated but a google search said it happened to cyclists and I have been doing loads of cycling recently after a dormant period.

I was very MSE :money: in that I would usually buy an early morning coffee if I leave the house very early and without coffee but I went to Waitros* near work and got a free one instead. I was so smug that I then paid for a coffee at lunchtime. The next time I go to work I am packing a flask. This diary helps with accountability as I can see this habit and take action straight away :)

I am cold at home but I refuse to turn on heating when it is nearly May. I am using hotter bottles instead.

I took a gorgeous salad to work with me and really enjoyed it :)

I stuck to my IF eating plan and I haven’t eaten chocolate for 2 days (unheard of)

I have a purse that I use for trips away. Whenever it comes out I know I am going somewhere nice. The best bit of my day was when I took the money from the ATM and tucked my pocket money in my holiday purse

I will set my 3 actions tomorrow as I am too tired tonight

    Nite, nite reader x

No inner thigh night cramps tonight :j So pleased! I had such a refreshing sleep. I feel sorry for people who have trouble sleeping for whatever reason as it's such a delicious restorative thing isn't it? :)

IF going well. Now, when I wake up I don't want food at all, but I do want tea or/and coffee. I like the control IF gives me. I don't have to go to an organisation and queue up and spend money and get given a plan :) This way of eating also has other health benefits too so I'm keen to adapt to it for the long term.

I am WFH today. I want to achieve these 3 things

Find a lovely card, write, get international stamp and send today

Clean glass in room I work in and sweep and mop floor

Wash kitchen bin. Sort external bin into big bin liner.

a very unexciting list, I know :rotfl: I hope to achieve other things too but those are the 3 basics...

Have a good day reader x

Hi DIA, I read through all your diary at the weekend, and now I've subscribed. You are doing well, both with your MSE learning, and your healthy eating/exercise.

One tip for withdrawing cash. If you get it via cash-back at the Supermarket the money doesn't come out of your account for a few days.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

You definitely don't bore us with your meal plans or anything at all. Keep on updating us!

I completely agree with Rosa on the flylady information. I haven't ever used the forum, I just use her website and most days barely manage the sink clean!!!

Ahhh, I can really relate to the smug coffee you bought for saving money by not buying the morning one!!!! I'm really looking at the way I handle "savings" now!

Yay for a controlled spend and new shoes!!!

Thank you Satchmo for your comments and for following my diary. It's good to have support as this will be a long journey for me

The Supermarket tip is a good one :T

I phoned the bank who I have a debt with today. I’ve been putting off calling them for days. I hate talking to them. Banks make me nervous :o The guy I spoke today spoke like a robot and kept staying I have to say X and I have to say Y. They speak from a script and it annoys me. Another good reason to be debt free as I won’t need to speak to them ever again. They are a rubbish bank and frequently top the rubbish customer services charts. :(

Anyway, I needed them to send my agreement in writing and they are doing so.

My debt is now £20,233. When I make my next payment my debt will be in its teens. This debt has been as high as £25,000 so that will be nice. It’s funny the things I have ended up feeling excited about. It’s a strange old journey :)

It is so cold! It’s getting harder and harder to keep the heating off! I’ve had a hot water bottle at my back all day. I’m wrapped tonga-style in a fleece throw. I am wearing a scarf and look well and truly crazy

I finalised my application for the additional hours and will know in mid May where I am with that.

I cleaned the bin. A yuck job but now it is all clean and lovely. I cleaned all the glass in the room where I work. I hoovered the stairs as they were so grubby they made me feel a bit sick. I will sort external bin and mop the floor this evening. I WILL

Two lots of washing got done and is drying. Glad I didn’t listen to the weather forecaster who said showers from mid morning onwards.

Two flies came in to my home today. They will now start coming in until Winter and I hate them

I WFH and through the window I saw into the garden. I saw a blackbird carrying an overoptimistic bundle of straw. It was so heavy it could barely take flight :rotfl:

My card for my friend was selected (A lovely textile based card that was £3.99 in Oxfam reduced to 80p ages ago. I save money by buying cards in advance as nice ones are so pricey) It’s written-up but I will have to get a stamp and post tomorrow

I made a tomato sauce and added LId* clams that were reduced to 50p and I will have it with sweet potato tagliatelle and cheese. Yum. :)

I thought about an Amazon order for books but I cancelled it and will try the library instead :)

It is a NSD today :T

Maybe it is down to the good sleep last night or the unexpected sunny day but feeling good today. I hope you are too reader x
