I haven't been idle this Sunday morning. No Siree.
washing x2 done and on line blowing
batch cooked lentils
batch cooked quinoa
made another thai red curry
washing up x2
updated monthly shopping list
lamb and potatoes in slow cooker
cleaned out fridge
I wanted to not do a monthly shopping list but I can’t bear a month of walking around lugging bags of shopping. Also, not sure it is a TRUE saving as if I don’t do a delivery I’m in and out of the shops every 5 minutes and exposed to impulse buys. And I have a free delivery pass for May.
Very cheap supper in slow cooker of mini jackets (12p a bag) plus a lamb chop (reduced to £1.50) Will have with broccoli (8p for whole bunch) Cooked 2 bags of potatoes so will add to leek and stock for leek and potato soup. :T
I booked a training course at work yesterday that will give me 2 days at work from 10-4 in June. That will boost my skill set but also give me two late starts and early leaving times in mid summer. It’s the little things….;)
I dumped a linen curtain as it was stained with ink. The remaining one is on the line. It’s faded linen, sun bleached but quite lovely. I own a sewing machine. I can’t sew. I’m useless with it but surely even I can hem it and turn it into a tablecloth??
Yesterday was one of those days I was running on empty. I didn’t even have a proper meal until after work. Not organised and didn’t look the way I’d like to. I’ve got fatter… Hairs a mess...Oh well, I got through the day. I still haven’t done my fast day…:o
How I did with my actions yesterday
I set my budget for May. I wish I hadn’t…So depressing…As is...
Taking stuff out of my basket in the shopping queue. Endless adding up of numbers lists. Either, Or calculations. Hovering for yellow stickers food. Avoiding lunches with friends. Looking at repairs I can’t get done. Thinking of all the perfectly ordinary things I need but cannot buy...SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE
On the bright side. I might be moaning, but you know what? I am and I will keep on doing it as long as I need to so I am free of debt :T
3 actions for today
Come up with a weight tackling plan
Identify 3 builders ON LIST AGAIN
Sort out the dining room ON LIST AGAIN
Have a good Sunday reader

Monday is my day off so…,
Making do
Recycled lovely linen curtain into a tablecloth. Ironed and on table now and looking fab. So, so pleased with myself about that!
Surroundings
Ironing (small batch)
Cleaned a shelf in room where I work
Washing done and on line x2
No money for flowers so cut leaves and forsythia from garden and in vase. They look natural and beautiful. I should do it more often
Washing up
Health
Started on intermittent fasting (eating within a restricted timeframe) :T
Burning rosemary oil to clear my head
Going swimming and will get a steam too after
Money
Checked my bank account. No money in there but not o/d either and discovered I have two savings accounts. I thought I only had one. I’ve been trying to open a credit union account but the opening times are restrictive so I’m going to use one of the accounts as an emergency fund and the other for the ‘house repairs’ account. I will start these in August when my available income increases
Less than £3 (not including penny jar) to last until payday in 5 days
House
There is a damp smell at the front of the house that increases the need to get a builder in.
I still want a builder that has been personally recommended….
Thinking of asking my neighbour for a builder recommendation…but don’t really like her hubby. I once heard him refer to my house as shabby. It is, but still…:(
3 actions
Swimming and steam room
Buy Freddos pack with my pennies jar and have one a day so I feel less deprived over the next 5 days to pay day
Phone roofer (who has done work and who I trust) does he have any builder contacts who can redo/repairs my facias?

Today was a No Spend Day :T
I was on an away day so lunch was provided. I ate breakfast before I left and tea and coffee was available on tap
Another NSD tomorrow by virtue of having no money left until pay day...
Yesterday I suffered the indignity of using my penny jar contents in the supermarket self-service till to buy some emergency chocolate.
What I've realised is it's the little things that make food better. So, for example, I have soup but without parmesan it isn't quite as nice. On pay day I will pay attention to these little food items that 'lift' meals
I took a DVD out of the library for 50p. It was great and so cheap. I shall do that again when I want a treat
Still feeling p***** about having no money but it is 5 days to pay day so not much longer until I can feel less edgy and a little more normal.
Instead of trying and failing with my house tasks I have joined the flylady there. Got to be worth a go
Really sunny this afternoon for me. I hope you got a few rays too reader

Hi DIA
I love FlyLady - must get back to it once exams are over. I've never been brave enough to do the thread though! But it's very helpful for keeping on top of things when you're really busy, so hopefully will work well with your extra hours.
I totally agree about the little things - it's all part of finding YOUR priorities, and the ways to save that work for YOU.

Thanks Orange Ena,
Yes join your local library. Where I live they are under threat so I like to support them although sometimes it's a bit faffy having to return things and avoiding fines...
I took out a film called A Song for Marion with Vanessa Redgrave and Terence Stamp. It was life enhancing and just what I needed.
These past few days without any money have been hell and I am determined not to repeat them next month, although I've said it before I mean it this time

Rosa xxI've joined Flylady but I haven't actually done any cleaning yet and today I ate my porridge out of a glass teapot. When that happens it is glaringly obvious that I have to get a grip

I woke up with a stiff neck and headache. I should be on a course this morning and work this afternoon but I am going to take a sick day from work. I haven't taken a sick day since last year and there is no point being a martyr.
I was very tired yesterday and went to bed early but I still have woken up in this state
The house is a disorganised tip and today is going to be a nice day. I'm going to stay home and make some soup and clean up. I will try and get to the health club later too and sit in the steam room to see if that eases the stiffness
I'm going to open all the windows and get some fresh air circulating
