Hi just checking in. You are on a mission well done but don't burn yourself out!;)

Thank you BTD. That's why I'm reading your diary BTD so I get some balance....In the end I really want to enjoy my journey too. I want to arrive at my destination with grace and having enjoyed the previous few years :)

Best bit of my day? An invitation to a book launch party for a famous author in June —really nice venue too. Stepping up my healthy eating so I can be trim enough to wear a dress I already own and love :)

A fat red-breasted Robin through my window made me smile

Can you send a swimming suit to a charity shop? It’s a good one from Bode* but slightly too big so indecent in the boob area really…Maybe I should just bin it. It seems a bit indecent like sending knickers to the charity shop but I hate throwing clothes in the bin

Drinking lots of camomile and honey tea today. I realise I can get by with less coffee as long as I have a decent shot first thing…

Getting a bit worried about the state of my house, inside and out. FlyLady seemed too much. I need to start smaller….They have a stage 1 task like hoover both sides of your mattress. Perhaps, I’ll clear and hoover my stairs and take it from there…:o

    3 actions update

1 Barclays closed on Saturday for the department I need.

    2 DVD returned

3 Budget done and redone and done and redone to the point of boredom. Anyway, done.

It’s not quite warm yet is it? I was tempted to have some heating on. Instead I made do with a hot water bottle

I had a 20 minute cycle to the library. It refreshed me and I took the DVD back of course.

On the way to the library I bumped into a guy from my road that another neighbour told me to approach for builder contacts but I didn’t like to, he might have someone to do the outside of my house. I’ve learnt not to get my hopes up but it might lead somewhere….

I got my weekend paper and spotted cottage cheese with chives and onions reduced for £1.38 a tub to 9p a tub. I got two tubs. Not a huge fan of cottage cheese but had it with humus and pickles and it’s okay with rice cakes for a light supper as I had chilli at lunchtime.

A easy day, but after yesterday I needed easy

I hope your day flowed in the direction of your desires

I would look round the charity shops and if they have swimming costumes in, donate to them. I was helping at a school jumble sale once and someone had sent in a whole bagful of bras and matching bottoms. I was doing the door and ended up in charge of the undies as several helpers refused to touch them. They were really popular and sold out quickly.

    A very quiet lazy day.

I should have gone to my gardening course but did not....I am starting to remember that days where nothing is scheduled are very important to me :)

Spoke to a friend in Australia and laughed a lot. The best bit of my day :)

Cooked and ate and washed up a lot

Paperwork decluttering done. I now have a pile to take to work and shred

Progress on cleaning room I work in (but still not completely done).

I had a brainwave and will give a friend a present I already have that will suit her.

I explained I couldn't see a film with another friend and why and she was fine with it. I hate conflict and usually end up doing the thing I don't want to/can't afford to do, but this time I didn't and it feels good :)

To avoid the awful, awful situation I was in this month I am being EXTREMELY careful with money from the get go (as my Yankie friend's say) I can't cut debt repayment so other expenditure hats be pruned

Actions. Tomorrow I will get my haircut, swim, steam, cycle, (saving on fares) get my eyebrows threaded, (only £3 where I live and the results are like a mini face-lift. Truly) buy some decent undies and tights and shoes. Expensive yes, but all essential. I've spent a very shabby month :o

I have decided to have my online shop delivered on the day after I get back from Scotland instead of getting it now.

I am also going to have a Nero coffee as a treat. I can't wait :D

One thing this debt free journey does is make you appreciate the little joys doesn't it?

Happy Sunday fellow debt busters :)

Totally agree about appreciating the little things. Please don't stop talking about food, you are my meal planning guru and inspiring me to do similar when I get exams over with! Also friends get more used to your chosen priorities so that you can meet for different kinds of events.

I wouldn't worry about sending a swimming costume to the charity shop - it may be exactly what someone needs and can't otherwise afford. You might enable someone to exercise cheaply! The shops check stuff and I think most of them have a steam cleaner, so they just won't sell anything they don't think is appropriate. I have sent swimming stuff, and nightwear and underwear so long as it's new enough to look completely clean and not lost its stretch (this does mean I end up sending bras but not the matching knickers, however apparently not everyone is as bothered about this as I am :rotfl:).

Oh and re FlyLady, are you looking at the thread on here or her website? Stage 1 of her book and site certainly isn't about hoovering mattresses, it's about spending just 15 minutes a day decluttering - so if that's not what you're seeing, have a look at the website - http://flylady.net/ . In my old house, I got it slowly sorted and then could keep a 2 bed house well looked after in less than 2 hours a week.

Thanks Rosa, :A I am going to keep posting about food :)

I am also going to use the Flylady site. I was using the flylady thread on here before and although they are lovely, perhaps they are a little too advanced for me
