Hello DIA,
I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly today. I hope you feel better soon.
Your day sounds very productive in helping you battle the illness. I hope it's gone as well as it sounds.

Thanks MT, I am feeling better today. I woke up and the stiffness has lessened. I'm not 100% but as I'm WFH today it isn't a big deal
Hello to INOD and Beanielou, it's nice to be in the company of people who also love libraries.:D
It's funny but Victoria Wood going has made me more determined to get rid of this debt so I can start living the way I want to, following my passions and enjoying the little time I have left. I say 'little time' but I'm neither old or unwell but neither was she. It's just even with our three score years and ten, if we are lucky, it isn't very long is it?
As I approach pay day on Saturday I feel calmer. I can see the finishing line...Only 48 hours to go.:)
I've bored everyone on here with my moaning and done the same with my real-life people but this month I'll be better and not leave myself in this position again
The best bit of my day yesterday was talking to my lovely friend who knows my situation and despite being reasonably well-off herself she is understanding and is so wise and gave me a solution to a problem
Today I need to
chase the agreement I got with the bank because after 5 weeks I don't have it in writing
mop my kitchen floor
have a swim
have a intermittent fasting day
Off to set up for my day at work

I worked this morning but I also had a swim this afternoon and sat in the steam room for 10 minutes and my body feels much more relaxed.
Food supplies are SO low and yesterday I ate so many bean-based meals I was a little, well, windy:o (Too much information?? :rotfl:)
Today, I ate loads of broccoli and a piece of fish and a baked sweet potato with tahini sauceIt was nice but I could eat it again easily
I used more pennies for 2 Freddo chocolates. Funny thing is, I still used the penny jar contents but I felt less embarrassed. I'm not sure if that fact makes me happy or sad
I lost my travel pass. Maybe it's the swimming but I don't feel that upset. It would have run out tomorrow anyway. I'll take the bus to work, the exercise will be good for me. I can use my debit card to pay for fares. I don't think to will push me into overdraft as by the time it debits I should have been paid...If I do go O/D I won't be charged as I haven't been O/D in the previous 6 months.
I wrote in an earlier post that I am starting an emergency fund. I wanted to save £25 a month, but until August there isn't an extra £25 and every expenditure has been cut to the bone. I got a letter from work today and my tiny raise will equal guess how much a month?? Yup £25 exactly...:T
I stuck to my IF eating plan today and to be honest even after my supper I am a little hungry. Not starving, but...Anyway sticking to it, which will be easy because I have no food left to eat except eggs and porridge...
I will have to carry over contacting the bank and mopping my kitchen floor
Anyway, still a good day compared to yesterday and tomorrow is Friday

I walked and took the bus as I had lost my travel pass. I walked about 5 miles today in inappropriate footwear I might add. My travel time increased from 2-3 hours to 4 hours so I won’t be doing that again, time is money and it extends my working day too much for a few pounds savings.
I messed up with spending by using my debit card to buy lunch in Pret, pay for travel, shopping in Tes** and a reduced price sushi in Waitro**. I spent in total £43 today and took £10 as cashback which will last until Monday. It was scary as with each transaction I expected my card to be rejected. I won’t do this to myself this month...
I will meal plan around the food I purchased. I’m working from home tomorrow so I’ll be making a chicken, tarragon, lentil and spinach stew. I have loads of reduced price bagged salad so I will have that with it
I sort of agreed to see a film with a friend but the film and travel will cost £20 and that’s without a coffee and snack so I’m going to suggest a drink after work instead. I seem to spend a fortune just getting to places, much better to do things when I am already in situ.
I cancelled my gym (with regret) My last payment is June 1st.
I kept to my intermittent fasting but pushed it too far…haphazard, I need to be organised. The soup I had in Pret was £3.50 and I’m more than capable of doing a similar soup for myself for much less.
I’ve eaten crisps twice in one day
We have a counsellor once a month through work because of the type of work we do and I found him annoying and he has way too much to say for a counsellor
The best bit of my day today was getting home hours after leaving work and damp from standing at the bus stop in the rain.
Too tired to work out what I want to achieve tomorrow. Except take back the 50p DVD that by now will end up costing £1.50
I will log in early tomorrow and set my intentions.
Good night reader

Hi DIA
Would the journey be any better with different footwear and a rucksack, or is it just too much of a PITA?
Sorry to hear about the debit card stress, but as you already said you won't do it to yourself again, so there's another lesson crossed off and just plod forward.
Stew sounds delicious

Thanks Rosa
The journey would have been more pleasant and my feet would have been dry throughout and I would have been more balanced with a rucksack but the time would have been the same because of traffic

A wash has been done and is ready for pegging out (One of the perks of WFH)
My stomach has already adjusted to IF. I am not at all hungry this morning.
I made a chiili this morning. I don’t eat much meat but for large cattle I like organic, chicken I find corm fed free range tastes as good as organic most of the time. Anyway, this expense is offset by padding. So, the chilli I made this morning uses half my mince and has lentils, adzuki beans, carrots and celery but still tastes like a winner.
My chicken is marinating for later in the week
I bought a giant swede for 50p so might do swede mash to go with the chicken stew…
I know, stop going on about food but forgive me reader, but after so many baked beans last week (gone off them now, ditto eggs) I am so excited to have proper food again
It’s funny with food. I actually feel slight panic when there are not nutritious options ready prepared in the fridge. In fact for the last week my lack of food in the house has led me to feel distinctly edgy and yesterday it cost me dear with buying food I would not have usually purchased.
As Rosa says, learn the lessons and plod on and I will…
Thinking of whether to buy my online shop now or time to arrive when I come back from Scotland?
Going to hold back my fuel standing orders as I am ahead and need that money this month.
3 Actions for today
Return DVD
Phone bank to chase agreement in writing
BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET
The rain from yesterday has stopped. There’s a glimmer of sunshine trying really hard to shine and so am I
Work beckons, so off to earn the money to pay the debts.
I wish you all a flying start to the weekend
