Tomorrow I have a free day so I am going to exercise first thing, when I wake up. Oh the luxury of not having to clock watch. Actually looking forward to exercising :)

Yesterday I was on training to learn how to cope better with stress. Very helpful to take time out to have an objective view and be able to reflect. I think I am on the right track.

I spent £22 in MnS as I was tempted by the £10 deal and 20% off cashews. I am such a sucker. :o Once again, the end of the day caught me out as I was hungry and tired. MUST DO BETTER. Might start just taking cash out.

    Grown up stuff
I got my pension statement and I am on course for a full pension. Thank goodness for that.

My PPI forms are coming back saying I had none. Not disappointed as I didn’t think I had. Still, the next batch will now go off just to be sure :)

Ordered bulky waste collection to declutter an old chair and old broom in the garden

Changed a medical appointment so I can have a completely free day tomorrow

    Drudgery
Decluttered manky towels and a few tea towels. I should have washed, dried and made into rags but just threw as I wanted them gone. Also decluttered some toiletries.
    Washed up X6!!!!
    Cleaned cooker hob
Cleaned manky bit of washing machine with vinegar
    Laundry sorted
Dining table cleared (THIS TOOK AN HOUR!!!)
Tea towels washed and out to dry
    Kitchen sides cleaned
    Kitchen floor swept

Not too shabby for a WFH day :T
Hope you have all had good days too :)

Wow - you were a busy lady yesterday! I wish I had your enthusiasm and time for these things :) Trying to squeeze the bare minimum around working from home and still being super productive at work is challenging.

Your decluttering chat has inspired me, though, and this morning when I was taking my jeans out of my cupboard, i pulled the whole massive pile out of the wardrobe and lay on my bed. I only wear the top 5 pairs on the pile and there's shorts, skirts and all sorts there that I haven't even seen for months.

I didn't have time there and then to sort through but I'll go up and sort through once I've put dinner in the slow cooker at lunch time. :)

    What's on the agenda today?
    CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

July debt total: £24,630.44 | New debt total: £18,316.34 | Total debt paid: £6,414.10 (26%)

I had neither the time nor the enthusiasm JoJo, but I ran out of dishes to eat from and there was so much mess I couldn't find things  You have littlies and a demanding job so you are busy every day! I will pop over tho your diary and catch up on how you are doing :)

    Today
Today I had the day off. A day all for myself!!! :D

I walked 2 miles to a coffee shop, stopped there and worked on my bullet journal and planned out a few things I want to see/do in the next few months. These things to do/see are included in the annual gallery subscription I have already paid for and need to maximise use of.

I did not spend much on fares as I walked alot.

I swam today without clock washing. Nice shower, etc. Lovely.

I had breakfast before leaving home and did not eat all day but just had soup, as I got in starving. I will have lots of veggies in my evening meal :)

I ONLY SPENT CASH TODAY AND LEFT MY CARD AT HOME. It helped me make good choices.

I picked up a few bits and pieces (fruit/household/food bits) but thought about each purchase carefully :)

I watched a film after swimming (it is next door) I paid £3 as there is an over fifty-five offer. I AM NOT OVER 55!! But they did not challenge me, I didn’t know whether to be pleased or disappointed :)

I hope you had a good day too :)

What a lovely couple of days you have had. Walking, swimming and exercising, you have lots of energy.

Bet it feels good knowing you have got all that cleaning out of the way as well.

  • I am keeping up with the house a bit more by taking days off work. This is giving me insight into how much easier it will be to manage my life when I work 4 days a week, even if financially I am still fearful of taking the step.

I can see I do like exercise I just struggle to fit it in to a working day. I might decide to only go the gym on days off. Unlike Cumbrian Lass I cannot add it on to a working day (too tired/lazy) so I will just stick to 2/3 days a week. This will increase to a definite 3 days a week when I work 4 days a week in 2018. :)

On Saturdays I am going to start walking 2 miles from the station and 2 miles back. ;)

I am thinking of next year a lot. I am visually myself into my 4 day week and my new financial situation. On 4 days a week I have created £767 a month free to use for doing up the house.

I was planning on taking a 0% loan to put in an IKEA kitchen. I will do this whilst I have a 5 day salary. A £4,000 loan over 24 months for a basic kitchen will be £167 monthly. That decreases my money available for the house to £600 a month.

The other option is to take a loan (whilst I have a full time salary) to do everything. But back to paying interest and debt is not my friend…After fighting so hard to be debt free I don’t really want that unless I have to...

I can see a tough year ahead again financially for 2018 but with more free time to get organised, healthy and enjoy life. At least in 2018 the money I will be spending will be on changes and improvements I can see :)

Have a good day people :)

It's not for everyone gym after work. It also depends on your job, my job can be very stressful for short bursts then quiet for a day, so this helps.

As long as you move , it's better than nothing.

Your plans for 2018 are all sounding good, I am hoping to get to the bargain section of ikea tomorrow, I think it was you who mentioned it. Apologies if it wasn't.

Four days is good ,even though my Friday is for childcare it still feels like a day off .

    Have a good day.
