Thank you all for the get well wishes. I am getting there.

I woke up feeling poorly but I turned the day around by not putting pressure on myself and doing everything slowly with rests in-between. :)

I walked 3 miles in total today :)

I used my ‘small silver’ piggy bank and put it in the self service till for YS bargains. (£7 in total) My best buy was gluten free flatbreads reduced from £1.80 to 20p each. I got 2 packs. I also topped up on coffee and chocolate.:)

I cleaned my dining room. (swept floor/steam-cleaned floor/dusted cobwebs away/ cleaned dining table and decluttered/added a dining tablecloth/ stored my bicycle away/cleaned mirrors/wet-cleaned surfaces) :T

It is so nice to be in a clean, tidy room

I washed my bed linen and got it half dry outside, now it is on the radiators finishing off.:)

I have a friend coming to stay tomorrow night so the house needs to be habitable. Really looking forward to spending time with her. We are going out to an event tomorrow night then I am off the next day so we will be having lunch and then visiting Kew Gardens. She knows about my financial situation so I gave her £50 to hold for me months ago so I can treat her to lunch for her birthday :)

I hope you have all had a lovely Sunday

You are a productive lady for someone who is still under the weather - well done for all that you've achieved in the last few days.

I hope you have a lovely time with your friends - I had a fab time with friends on Thursday and it was just what I needed. Some laughs and good chat works wonders for the mind and the soul.

Also, a sensible option to get her to hold the cash for your time out - I don't know about you, but it'd make me feel like it was free fun, which is rather enjoyable!

I spent a few days working hard (but slow) on cleaning and organising the house. It was worth it. You are so right. I had a great time
Hope you have a lovely time with your friend.

I did! A really lovely time. I took my friend to the newly discovered catering college. The food was amazing. We are going back again soon with another friend for a Christmas lunch :)

Thanks Cumbria Lass. Feeling stronger every day. I gave the money to my friend so long ago we have had new £10 notes in the meantime :)

There are times when this becoming debt free and living frugally comes into its own.

The restaurant at the college was a delight yesterday and the food way beyond anything I have experienced in London. My friend likes fine dining and I was hoping she wouldn’t think me a cheapskate. I was praying for the food to be good. We both agreed it was exceptional. She loved the experience and thought I was clever to have found it! :D

I never would have found it had I not been searching for ways to enjoy eating out on a budget. It wasn’t just the food but it was being surrounded by young people who were at the beginning on their journeys. It felt like we were part of something bigger than an individual desire to make a profit. It felt personal and in a corporate, franchised world it felt pretty good :)

I am having a beef and mushroom stroganoff for lunch/supper. I added a bag of spinach and it is delicious. Would I have discovered this if it wasn’t a yellow sticker reduction (£6 to £1.25)

I found 2 brand new and boxed Osprey leather key rings in beautiful boxes with tags. They are priced at £20 but I got 2 for friends for £5 each. Nice presents. Would I have been digging in charity shops if I was not living frugally?

Sometimes, there is something creative and wonderful about this journey. ;)

I am in the ‘in debt but doing something about it’ club. If you are reading this maybe you are too.

Guess what? I am kind of glad I joined ;)

    Have a good day :)
