I remember a work Christmas do when we were going to split the bill 20 ways and one person objected so we spent ages working it all out. The person would have been better off just paying the split as she ended up paying more ! Anyhow there are only certain friends that I would split a bill with. The others tend to pick a fixed price menu and buy your own drinks not on the bill.

Just finished work. I have tomorrow completely for myself and Monday is not work, but lots of commitments.

My last few days have been rubbish and left me wanting to retire or find another job. I have been reading the retirement and pensions site and feeling jealous of them all. Silly to do that because they are retired because they are a lot older than I am although some have retired in their fifties.

The people I work with are basically good but my boss is super controlling and sometimes I can deal with that and other times I cannot. Today is a cannot day.

Working for an employer offers stability in one way but it is also a cage. (Not that I am ungrateful to have a job, before anyone says I should be, I am!)

Orange Ena has moved into her new home.

2018 is ‘do up my house with the money I now pay to debt’. If I keep to it I can move in 2019 and like Orange Ena I can start my new life.

In the meantime I need to enjoy the life I have a bit more.

I am going for a swim tonight to see if that stops my mood from plummeting.

I hope you all had a good day

I cleaned my hob with the steamer attachment and the knobs came off (not done for many years) were soaked, cleaned with a toothbrush and when the gunk behind the knobs was removed put back on. I cleaned under the grill. All in all it was disgusting. Now I have an old, rusting, partially working cooker that is sparkling and somehow I feel better about it.:)

I cleaned the washing machine rubber bits with the steamer and a cotton bud. More disgusting gunk.

I swept and hoovered the kitchen floor then I steam cleaned it but used an almond floor cleaner first. The steam cleaner has a cloth attached but I used old kitchen cloths that have now been binned:money:

There was a stale smell when I opened the door after work the other day. I dislike plug in freshners or air spray so don’t use them but hopefully now things should smell fresher and cleaner now.

I have had a good day cleaning and resting and catching up with a best friend abroad with a long phone call. This is exactly the kind of Sundays I want to be having.:) I need a ‘nothing’ day every Sunday. There is a new yoga class starting in a few weeks and I will add that to my Sunday, but nothing more.

I hope you enjoyed your Sunday too

Last year I received 2 incorrect statements that showed I still owed on my mortgage when in fact it was clear. Cue todays statement. Relieved to see they have rectified the problem and all is well :)

A good(ish) day with a successful hospital appointment with my niece and good news for a change.

Then into work for a meeting.

My food management went wrong so despite walking around all day with a rucksuck containing my sports kit I was starving with no food from 2pm onwards so I could not exercise. :( Instead I stopped off after work at Mr T, but at least I checked the bill before I left so no overcharging this time. I was craving chicken and veggies, so I bought them but I also bought my nemesis when I am tired and hungry, wine and crisps…

    I spent £20 at Mr T

I also spent £27 on a present for a baby in the family

£7.50 a sandwich for my niece

    £2.35 for a coffee

£5.20 sending posh tea to Australia

    A really spendy day (again)

The good news is a MnS food hall has opened on my route home from work. I just need to work out their YS timings and I will be quids in :T

    £62.05!!b TOTAL

I am going the turtles for November so I can keep an eye on myself

I hope you had a good day reader

I worked from home today. I am adjusting to slightly longer days and shorter lunch breaks at the start of the week, towards the end of the week I go back to normal and next week I will be having a day off as part of my 9 day week :)

I did buy some clothes and will be sending most of it back. I was reading INOD and she has a manifesto, in it she says she only wants clothes she loves. Me too! Although some bits were okay I didn’t truly love them enough.

I wanted to buy some dog food for a dog with a homeless/sitting on the street man outside the supermarket. He asked for a very specific dog food that I forgot to buy so I gave him £2 and said, ‘please use it for the dog.’ He pointed out the dog was spoilt and to look at his coat and he was right I had never seen such a shiny healthy coat so hopefully he will use it for the dog

I got a yellow sticker haul and a few essential non YS like lentils and chocolate and eggs. I have lots of good quality protein and some sausages too that I have frozen in batches. They are great for lunches with veggies as I don’t eat bread. I paid £12.60 for the shop and the value is £36 so happy with that :)

I’ve started buying small 35g bars of chocolate. It works out more expensive but I eat a bar a day often so this way is better for my health. I could stop eating it altogether but really? It is a pleasure I enjoy so I don’t want to…

I hope you had a good day too :)

  • Good decisions on the clothes. I decided to buy less volume but spend more on things I really like. I have wasted so much over the years on things that will do.

Nice YS haul, I hope the new food hall works for you. I was excited about passing one on the way back from my contract stuff but at 4.30/5 they are just doing 20% off sadly.
