Fuming at jobcentre, pushing us through hoops

This is all very similar to before and has been going on for weeks if not months, you seem to be asking the same/similar questions again and again which have already been answered. Also out of interest why are you using a different log in name this time round?0

I was logged into this account at time and posted before I realised it was my alt lol.
Yes everything will go away once I start uni as this stress is because of my flatmate I dont have a problem with benefits its him, so once im away from him I wont have to worry about sorting out his problems lol
Yes it has been going on for months(2 months since he left work, about 5 since he started New Deal)
The point is now the jobcentre has the P45 which took 2 months to arrive, so they have proof of his final wage, and his wageslips to confirm the amount on the wageslips, but they want more "proof" he left work then as he may still be working which is stupid as if he was how could he go to his 9-5 work placement which takes almost a hour to walk there and back! silly.0 -
Why do you have an alt login?which is stupid as if he was how could he go to his 9-5 work placement which takes almost a hour to walk there and back!
I have no idea what relevance that has?
Please tell me your friend has not rang a solicitor about this? That is a complete overreaction, and much more 'silly' than anything the Jobcentre is doing.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Ok this is my attempt to be helpful. I suspect the issue maybe about whether or not he left work voluntarily - The DWP will write to the employer to find out - and will suspend full benefit until they either get an answer - or after x number of follow ups they give up.
The advice to go to CAB is good - get an appointment - go see them - they will take the case up directly with DWP with the specialist knowledge to persist.
That said it sounds like he is in fact not fit for work - so a visit to the gp to get signed off sick might help - higher rates of benefit - and no requirement to actively seek.
The GP may be able to help with the depression.
I agree with other posters that those who can work should - and I cannot believe there is not plenty of agency work available. However it sounds like he needs some help first0 -
Read into what I said, the jobcentre says they need a letter to confirm he left as he could be working still, when how could he be working a morning cleaning job when he has to spend a hour walking to work in morning which means he leaves about 7.45am and a hour back so how could he be working if hes at his work placement full time!
Why is ringing a solicitor wrong, they have all the information needed to sort his claim, so why are they stalling.
What difference does a letter from an employer stating he left a certain date and got so much pay do when the employer already has that in a P45 and they spoke to employer on phone to confirm it!
PS this is at poster 2 posts up.
Well its a double edged sword, hes unfit for work due to stress and money, but if he works he has money and doesnt stress over not getting paid so he would be fit.
I have told him time and time again to go to doctor and he refuses as he says he hasnt a problem0 -
Thats another thing I dont understand they havent given up! When I was working last year I left 2 months before starting college and never got a P45, and jobcentre tried contacting employer by phone and letter and never got an answer, and just worked it out on payslips I gave and this was only about 3 weeks after my claim was opened.
Dont understand why my friends having so much bad luck.0 -
You are legally entitled to a P45 and yes the jobcentre does need it. I know this as we have just been through claiming Income Support and they lost OH P45 but we did get it sorted. When I was working last year I left 2 months before starting college and never got a P45,The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. The Jobcentre clearly have reason to doubt some element of your friend's story, hence the request for further information.
A solicitor would not take on this case. There is no case to take on! Also, how on earth do you plan to pay for the sols time?!!!
Has your 'friend' actually supplied the additional information that the Jobcentre has requested, or even made efforts to get the information?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Why not is there a law against it or something?0
