    In other news:
The number of people in the UK securing a permanent job has fallen for two months in a row, according to a survey.
"The UK jobs market suffered a dramatic freefall in July, with permanent hiring dropping to levels not seen since the recession of 2009,"

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Do you mean like the Tories (who I believe you support) will sacrifice ordinary people in the pursuit of their political ideology?

It is the same the world over. The EU is not any different to many other political organisations. You just choose to swap their version of politics for another one so that you can have fewer people immigrating to this country (a remote chance).

no real idea what yoiu are trying to say but I believe there is no parallel in the UK with how the EU political elite treat the people of Greece just to encourage the others.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what will happen to small businesses selling on amazon and ebay after brexit in the event we go big bang and leave the single market?

I am not sure what you mean. I assume big bang is Brexit. I assume you are talking about Amazon sellers who sell most of their products to the EU and not the UK and are based/warehouse in the UK.
Could you clarify and help with more details. There are things people like that can be doing now.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

It all depends on what our relationship with the EU as as they could be complex duties and lots of import/export paperwork. The system that lets you handle VAT across all EU countries via a single portal will probably go and everything will have to be filed separately.

presumably the ease of doing business with the EU and the extreme difficulties of trading with USA, Aus and the rest of the world, provides a ready explanation of why the proportion of our trade is falling with the EU and rising with the rest of the world.

Perhaps looking at growth rates in various regions will give you more clues.

Our trade with our biggest trade partner, the EU, was rising.

Our trade with the rest of the World was rising even more so clearly being in the EU didn't prevent that.

If we now make it more difficult to trade with the EU, and trade with our biggest partner falls materially, then we'll have to scramble around desperately trying to replace that from elsewhere.

It's the very definition of running flat out just to stand still.
