The younger generation forget that there was a 23% decline in house prices from autumn of 2007 to early 2009 with the FTSE 100 down 43% from its peak at the same time.

But where are they now. Obviously it is best to buy when prices are low not at the peak but timing that is almost impossible.

The "predicted" economic bear market starts 2017 to 2020 then bull market 2020 to 2024.

Do you take the risk? I agree its all about timing but impossible to time.

Depends why you are buying, how much deposit you've got and how long you intend to stay, sometimes you have to take a chance and get on with your life.

Sorry, but that made about as much sense as a Clapton post.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Probably tried to post a link, but as a first poster, could not...

I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

I'm much more concerned about the situation in the Eurozone (especially the banking sector in Germany, Italy and Greece, and little to do with the UK), and how that will impact our own economy.

I really wish they would get rid of Juncker and his ilk, and employ some competent, sensible, reasonable people with whom we could negotiate to try and pull together and resolve that and other situations. Just forget about attempting to create a 'united states of Europe' (which few countries in Europe will ultimately agree to) and focus on the economies of Europe, and on working together to resolve the economic crisis and end the security issues that are destabilising Europe.

Businesses with a heavy UK or EU exposure are in for a rough ride, and these are some of our largest private sector employers.
