More info for you.

Not sure what point you wanted to make.
Just to point out. Barnier has been appointed by Juncker to head up the OUT negotiations and will report directly to him.
The NEXT step is to negotiate what relationship Britain will have with the EU after we have left.

His roll is an Internal one. I am not sure what that means. I suspect some internal EU politicking going on here.
Of course in the real world although there will be different tables being sat around and Britain is supposed to be OUT before the next step the corridors of power will be busy with chat.
I am hoping that the UK negotiators are up for it.There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

(if the unemployed are willing) at identical rates if such companies are to survive, otherwise more unemployment and more cost for services such as delivery as 1 example to everyone else.
It is the companies who wish to pay the least possible within the market which they operate to earn the most profit.
Note that Theresa May seems quite keen to reduce the minimum wage in poorer areas (i.e. anywhere that isn't London), so companies are going to jump on that and it'll potentially have more of an effect on wages than East Europeans will.0 -

Farewell, open, tolerant, diverse and welcoming Britain.
For information. Yes I know it is from a tiny country that only has 1200 students presently studying in the UK.
This might help you understand that it is not always Brexit only partly so.
Luxembourg students get support from the Government in two ways. An outright grant to cover tuition fees and a loan that HAS to be paid back.
Looking at the grant for tuition fees. This is a maximum of €3700 per year. Until recently this nearly covered the UK cost. However since fees have risen to £9000 per year you can see there is a huge shortfall. Now Luxembourgers are not as rich as you imagine but they have sprung for the difference with I imagine extra help from family.
Now we have BREXIT.
When you have to commit for three years you can imagine this leap in the dark might deter some.
If my daughter (who studied in England) were starting out I would be strongly urging her to look elsewhere and with a +/- £6000 a year shortfall on tuition fees alone my opinion would matter.
Remember a degree from a French, German, Belgium, Dutch and Luxembourg University will cost less than €1000 per year in tuition fees. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
the 'facts' about trade deals were CBI propaganda with no actual facts
can't you recognise that ?
Do you have any basis for that? Counter evidence, for instance?
Which statements do you believe are incorrect and why?
You can't just say facts aren't facts without some kind of argument or proof.0 -
If stalling Hinkley Point was an unintended outcome of Brexit, then gotta say, Result!
With an outbreak of Sensible like this, maybe HS2 next?0 -

I went part time with work so i can live a bit more, here and now. I'm buying another house in a few weeks. I'd rather have a house/mortgage than £250k doing nothing in a bank.
That's nice, but can we see the link to the £315k house you bid £362k on and lost out? It must be on the LR now."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -
2. The EU gives UK business preferential market access to over 50 countries outside of the EU
3. The EU gives the UK access to more markets than Switzerland, Canada or Australia – who have 38, 15 and 15 trade deals respectively
The EU has 50 trade deals but not all are countries. Here's some of the 50: Isle of Man, Faroe Islands, Monaco, Akrotiri and Dhekelia, Guernsey, jersey, Liechtenstein. Andora, Palestine, Montenegro, Georgia, Bosnia. Albania etc. Easy to get to 50 when you count each of these as deals. OK there are Mexico and South Africa and one or two similar sized but hardly spectacular.
Here's a few Swiss Free Trade deals: United States, Russia, Australia, China, The EU, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, India, Japan, Indonesia. So, who's free trade deals would you prefer? The Switzerland-China trade deal gives China immediate access to Swiss markets but Switzerland has to wait 15 years for access to Chinese marketsIf I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
