    Clapton, you might be right.
However the 7 (seven) years number comes from..... Do remember that it was a UK Government that allowed The new Eastern country's that joined to have free entry for workers. Much of the old Europe had a 7 (seven) year breather before they could come to work.
Sadly once again Britain has slept walked into causing its own problems. Perhaps it's something to do with the Little Englander mentality of our politicians.

I would say the opposite : that Labour and LibDem were totally pro EU without any reservations : the Tories talked little england but in practices are totally committed to the EU ideal.
Remember their parties all wanted to join the Euro: it was only Brown acting alone that decided not to.

I posed a valid question : why do you suppose that the collective prejudices of the 27 are superior to those of the UK people?
History doesn't teach us that great monolithic empires encourage diversity nor to allow many flowers to bloom.

As for Jeremy : he is the leader of the Labour party. That is the party you support and you claim to have meet him.
Why is it invalid to discuss his views? Do you reject he is/was a IRA supporter ; do you reject the view he has never confronted their leaders about the bombings and the killings. Do you think his view about these issues shouldn't be discussed?

Personal vendettas have no place in this discussion.

Isn't the EU like a runaway train. In a hurry to get to its destination without getting the passengers on board first. For a long time migration was a UK problem. Now other EU states are finding coping with a large influx of people an issue. Not just the resources required but the cultural impact that's being felt.

    That's unfair.

We have some politicians with a Little Scotlander mentality.

To me it seems like Mr Cameron got most of what he was looking for. That's what's being reported and I see no reason to disbelieve the Torygraph which can hardly be described as waving the blue and gold.

It would be interesting for the naysayers to explain what he should have got that he didn't.

The deal can be overturned after agreement by the EU Parliament but then the UK can simply leave if that happens. This seems to be the main argument against the deal but it's entirely specious and could be used about any deal between sovereigns.

I maintain that if you hate the EU you'll hate the deal and if you're okay with it then you'll be okay with the deal. My guess is that the Remains will win by something between 45-55 or 40-60, not even close to leaving.

China was definitely in a hurry to modernise the economy, and yet despite having a primitive one party state they have managed to sustain 2 decades of continuous growth which puts most of the Western economies to shame.

Or don't they count under "all political entities"?
