There is everything to play for - this isn't over yet.

it seems that a government of the young would be best

say a group of young army officers and a whiff of grapeshot could settle the matter, until there is a 50% vote of all eligible electors can form a government
something spice, Mobi and Generali could unite behind.

The problem with democracy is that the people tend to say what they want.

Sometimes the outcome can be something which a subset of the people don't want.

That said, my personal preference would have been to remain with major reforms, but wasn't an option and would require buy-in from the EU politburo; sadly they seem to have painted themselves into a corner; that bloke Junckers is an autocrat, not a politician and his response is symptomatic of the EU's attitude.

Given that seems hardly likely, I would say we are better off out.

As a remainer, I find this petition malarkey quite childish.
The brexiters have won it fair and square with a successful campaign of lies, division, hate and fear.
There should not be and there will not be a re-run.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

had remain won you would be telling the racist brexiteers to keep quiet and suck it up.

You had it too easy for too long.
Welcome to the new improved United Kingdom my friend.

So the referendum was a huge mistake. Why? because the average man on the street has chosen our destiny rather than the toffs?

Have you not noticed that the country has been split for years now.
Trouble is whenever you try to say something your labelled racist.
How do you know I had it too easy? You know nothing about me. The country is split and I've been saying that for years. The question is over the solution. Do you seriously think Brexit will help all the people you care about? GDP will reduce, unemployment will grow, inflation will rise. Who is that going to hit the most.......yes the very disadvantaged types of people who voted for Brexit! Its so obvious!

Meanwhile in London our wonderful financial centre:-

That is your opinion. I don't have an opinion- I'm simply describing what I'm witnessing.

If we were going to leave the EU Article 50 would have been invoked.

Boris is on record as saying many times that he wants a second referendum with a Remain result.

There are not enough MPs who back Brexit to get a vote through parliament.

    The result isnt legally binding.

Only 37% voted to leave the EU.

My conclusion, therefore, based on these facts is that we aren't leaving the EU any time soon.

This where you are wrong mate. Things change all the time. This was won on the basis of lies and the split is right down the middle. Not even Boris wanted to win really and he was himself talking about a second referendum. There may be a General Election....what will be in the Party's manifesto's I wonder?

Don't you mean that the Brexiters had a BETTER campaign of lies, division, hate and fears than the remain camp could muster? :)

All valid points, however you seem to have overlooked the fact that we have an opportunity to really annoy ruggedtoast by leaving the EU. So even though we don't really want to leave the EU, and it would probably be an economic disaster, it seems too good an opportunity to pass.
