I'm not sure about this at all, it just doesn't seem to right to ignore the referendum result. Although I believe that Ireland did it twice and Denmark once, I don't know if there was anything different in those particular circumstances? Does anyone know this?

    We had a referendum.

37% of voters stated that they would like to leave the EU.

    So what?

They won, that's what. I voted remain not leave, but I also believe that there has to be a genuine reason (like I outlined above) to have a second referendum, i.e. something that changes the circumstances and conditions upon which the first referendum was based.

would it not be better for the EU to offer further concessions, so the actual circumstances and conditions of EU membership would have changed, that to me would seem a more valid reason to have a second referendum.

Which is what Boris always wanted.

Won what? It was never a legally binding referendum. It could have been but it was deliberately written so it wasn't .

In order to leave the EU the MPs need to vote for it? Do you think Boris can swing this?

Won the referendum, please identify where I said it was legally binding.

I don't know if Boris would be fully motivated to do so, it depends on how he thinks it would affect his chances of becoming the next PM, that will be his priority.

    Won the referendumQUOTE]

63% didn't vote to Leave the EU - so did they really win anything?

You've got to be in it to win it. If the first 3 in the betting are withdrawn from the grand national, and the 4th fav finished first (and weighs in), did that horse win the grand national? Yes it did.

Possibly not, I would like to see what the politicians make of this, no doubt we will hear that very soon. The petition is now over 2.8m it will likely be up to 4m by Monday
