    What they said.

We're not going to leave the EU. It's just bargaining.

Yup. They're bluffing. The Tories have no intention of taking the UK out of the EU.

The Tories didn't consult Labour when they hatched this disastrous plan for a referendum.

Corbyn is well aware that the Labour heartlands dislike the establishment, which includes much of the Parliamentary Labour Party. Thats why he is leader not Liz Kendall.

Maybe if Cameron had asked him he'd have learnt that the Tories couldn't take these peoples votes for granted and a referendum was actually a pretty risky idea.

The last thing Labour needed to do was to hitch their wagon to the Tories then exhaust their credibility watching the same Tories blunder through an unpopular campaign, like happened in Scotland.

The Tories are to blame for losing this referendum not Jeremy Corbyn. Labour are not in government though the PLPs stupid assumption that they could rely on heartland votes is symptomatic of the arrogance of the elites that has led to this.

No amount of leafletting and Facebook campaigns would have turned this on its head.

Sums up the quality of politics today. Nothing worthwhile to say.

Whilst this is true I think JC has been hurt badly. As a member of the LP I know people who have been big supporters of JC who have come to realize over the course of this ref what a liability he is and want to see him gone. I really do think it's the beginning of the the end, momentum have just lost momentum.

More people voted leave than remain.

It's logical to assume that if the Government took any notice whatsoever of this petition, then leave voters could start a similar petition with a greater number of signatures demanding that the first petition be disregarded.

    Exactly :T

What part of MAJORITY are the moaners not getting.
We had a referendum and leave won.

We are always told that change is a good thing and that we should embrace it.
We might actually become proud of our island again :) anyone remember those days?

You have evidence they were in bed at the time?:)

Probably true but that will not stop them feeling aggrieved at the boomers.
Do find this blaming boomers a bit much, after all 40% of them did vote to remain and there are significantly more people of voting age younger than boomers.

Do all the people complaining think that the leave side would be just any better after all Farage was getting his digs in minutes after the pole ended and he didn't think he was going to win

Boris always wanted a 2nd referendum.

Quite, but Boomers are not a homogeneous group. The majority of them have benefited from good pensions, hous price inflation and lots more. Being on the edge of that group I cannot disagree with young people who say this.

True the younger generation could have made a greater political impact and many could not be bothered, probably motivated by the apathy that modern politicians inspires. But it does not stop them taking the view.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.
