Our delaying is a superb bargaining chip
German Finance Minister has said agin just now a good relationship with the U.K. is essential and remember we and Germans have been like minded partners inside the EU. He mentioned we might get some sort of associated partner status, in other words free trade just as Leavers argued would be the case
Indeed.
Last year Germany sold us 821,000 cars as well as other stuff.
Throughout the EU companies in all countries will be looking at their accounts and working out the consequences of UK tariffs on their business.
It makes sense to wait several months until the howls of anguish and threats of millions of job losses are heard at ministerial level in their respective governments.
Then we'll start negotiating. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

What about the howls of anguish of British companies and threats to the jobs of millions of Brits???
Do any of you people actually work?0 -

1.7 million sign UK petition for second EU vote
More people voted leave than remain.
It's logical to assume that if the the Government took any notice whatsoever of this petition, then leave voters could start a similar petition with a greater number of signatures demanding that the first petition be disregarded. If I don't reply to your post,

The longer we wait = a better deal negotiated = the safer jobs will be.If I don't reply to your post,

I agree. It's all just posturing. We are not going to leave the EU.What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

What they said.
We're not going to leave the EU. It's just bargaining.0 -
You are right but they've taken advantage of an opportunity to stick the boot in to the establishment and Corbyn clearly did not reach them . He has to resign!
The Tories didn't consult Labour when they hatched this disastrous plan for a referendum.
Corbyn is well aware that the Labour heartlands dislike the establishment, which includes much of the Parliamentary Labour Party. Thats why he is leader not Liz Kendall.
Maybe if Cameron had asked him he'd have learnt that the Tories couldn't take these peoples votes for granted and a referendum was actually a pretty risky idea.
The last thing Labour needed to do was to hitch their wagon to the Tories then exhaust their credibility watching the same Tories blunder through an unpopular campaign, like happened in Scotland.
The Tories are to blame for losing this referendum not Jeremy Corbyn. Labour are not in government though the PLPs stupid assumption that they could rely on heartland votes is symptomatic of the arrogance of the elites that has led to this.
No amount of leafletting and Facebook campaigns would have turned this on its head.0 -
Another Leave campaigner is telling the BBC that we might not trigger Article 50 for a year or two. Tory MP. Kwarsi Kwarteng.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0
