Have you seen the letter to Cameron today asking him to categorically confirm his position on Turkey. A top EU official has just said Turkey now has the open road into the EU

Why does Cameron need a categorical position on Turkey right this minute.

He might not be PM a week tomorrow.

The EU will never be able to disrupt trade as it would harm EU citizens and force up borrowing costs. Things are on a knife edge what with potential further debt bomb issues from Greece, Italy and others. Disrupting trade could act like a bomb primer.

So you do or don't think they'd negotiate a Brexit in bad faith?

    Can't have it both ways.

Hmm. You've agreed there's probably no difference in the level of spite of UK vs EU politicians. What message does it send to the members of the UK that the UK elite will also be vindictive to the EU and damage their own people into the bargain.

Sweet music to the ears of the SNP.

I'm unaware of any UK plan to be deliberately vindictive to the people of the EU27 or to damage their own people.

During the negotiations it wil be as it has always been since we joined the EU. British Politiciens will spin the news about the negotiations. We are unlikely to know the truth
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

it does seem strange that, if the EU is so beneficial to its members, that the German foreign minister thinks it might disintegrate.

I don't think there's a plan to be vindictive on either side. Your bias has led you to cling to ill thought out comments and extrapolate them into a plot. No-one enters negotiations trying to deliberately damage their own people. However, mix politicians, ego, and a nice bit of media coverage and they won't be able to help themselves. That's foreign politicians as well as our favoured native born.

I expect Brexit negotiations to lead to sub-optimal results for both parties as a result.

Luckily we'll have democracy back so when our native parliament decides we'll adopt EU law as per now and continue with free movement everyone will be happy as Larry. After all democracy is number one on everyone's list although I doubt the average voter will have spent more than 3 minutes researching the EU democratic process.

Just 24 per cent of net migration since 1990 is down to the UK’s membership of the European Union, analysis by the Independent can reveal.
The findings throw cold water on the increasingly histrionic statements about immigration made in recent weeks by Vote Leave, the official campaign for Brexit, as well as claims made this week

I know facts are boring. Spin is fun.
