Reuters has polled 35 economists, 31 felt that the impact of Brexit would be damaging to the UK economy:

    http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-eu-poll-idUKKCN0XA17D

Thirty-one of the 35 economists polled said the economic impact from Britain leaving the EU would be negative and four said it would have no effect. None said a Brexit would be positive for the economy.

Roughly two-thirds of those who answered questions on Brexit were UK-based, but there were no differences in answers provided based on geography. The sample was the monthly panel of forecasters on the British economy, at banks, fund management companies and independent research firms, who quite often disagree with each other.

I was at a gathering over the weekend and again was surprised at how many people were favouring brexit :(

Some of those people were immigrants themselves having come to the UK through heritage. Their reasons for voting 'leave' ranged from people coming in from outside the EU on EU passports and immediately claiming housing in London, to "we had to work hard to acquire our entry, why should we have open borders to the whole of the EU". The irony of both of these positions was lost on them completely.

I actually had to leave the room at one point I was so angry.

Are you calling my plan terrible?

    No.

I'm calling your plan not likely to be put in place.

Actually it's not a bad plan on Brexit but nobody with the power to present it has presented it.

its going to be a vote 90% about migrants and 10% about politics/economics

to be honest i am surprised the polls are so close I would have assumed the anti migrant stance was stronger and would have won it with a 'respectable' margin.

it looks like it could go either way, especially if the leave vote is more likely to turn out
  • I guess now the real fun begins.
Vote Leave and Britain Stronger in Europe have been designated as the official Leave and Remain campaigns in June's EU referendum.Vote Leave - backed by Boris Johnson and Michael Gove - saw off a challenge from a rival campaign Grassroots Out, backed by UKIP leader Nigel Farage.

The campaigns will be allowed to spend up to £7m, get a free mailshot, TV broadcasts and £600,000 public funds.

Am not entirely sure Jeremy has kicked off his pro-eu credentials all that well.
Jeremy Corbyn has hit out at the Government's decision to spend £9.3 million of taxpayers' money on a pro-EU leaflet being sent to every home in Britain.

The spokesman said: "Jeremy is of the view that there should have been an even approach to the information so people can make an informed decision."
The surprise intervention comes as the Labour leader prepares to make a major pro-EU speech in London tomorrow

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

EU referendum could be delayed until October as rival Brexit campaign considers legal challenge to Michael Gove's Vote Leave winning official status.

    Oh no...please...
I can just about cope with 10 weeks of more Clapton inane drivel, but half a year is just too much.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

    The man's a fool.

He's helping keep the Scottish referendum dream 2.0 alive for you though. I can see it now a Brexit vote in the UK but a majority of Scots voting to stay leading to a Scottish referendum and a vote to leave the UK.

I don't who will be happier; you or Clapton.

I shall feel only sadness when Scotland separates as I feel that, in an uncertain world we are more secure and better able to defend ourselves together.
But sadly, the people of scotland need to grow up and become adults. They need to appreciate what has been done for them over the last 300 years and lose their chip on the shoulder and learn to blame no-one but themselves for whatever the future shall hold. They will become better people in 40-50 years time and have a more balanced view of the world.

If they can't organise an out campaign without dissagreement, how will they negotiate an agreement if we do exit?
