So if wages keep falling in real terms and taxes rise thanks to Brexit it'll be fine because huge numbers of migrants still CHOOSE to come here?

    Good to know...

If it's still better than Romania/Greece or wherever else they come from then yes they will still Come.
I would have thought a 20% fall in the value of sterling would be a much more significant factor than the two you mention but it still may be much better than wherever they come from.

    And on the other hand
A leading voice of German trade has warned that the country has a lot to lose in Brexit talks.

Dr Volker Treier warned Angela Merkel, who criticised British "illusions" about Brexit yesterday, that German economy will suffer if she does not treat the UK well.

Brexit poses a threat to the Union, not primarily because of the British departure, but because it reinforces existing power relations within the Union. Paradoxically, the biggest danger for Germany is to profit too much from Brexit.

During the negotiations over Brexit, there is the additional danger that Germany might end up profiting from Brexit if banks end up shifting operations from London to Frankfurt. While German public opinion has been largely jubilant about this prospect, this poses a political threat to Germany. Given that the financial sector serves as a symbol of financial exploitation on both the radical right and left, it would be toxic for Germany’s position in Europe if radical minds succeed in adding outrage at perceived financial and economic domination by Frankfurt to existing complaints about political domination by Berlin. Counterintuitively, in the Brexit negotiations, Germany has an interest in ensuring that the financial industry remains in London to ensure a degree of balance in Europe. Radical movements throughout Europe would be boosted if Germany were to economically profit from punishing Britain for its departure.

    This quote from the Times.
"Just how deep this runs was shown this week in a Deloitte survey of 250 German companies about Brexit. Almost half said that Britain should no longer be allowed to trade on equal terms if it ended the free movement of people regarded as one of four basic principles of the single market. Only a quarter believed that special dispensation should be given to try to keep Britain on single market terms if it stopped free movement."

This is the link. Please try it is an interesting read.

Another quote, which shows how we "Europeans" can misunderstand each other.
"It is clear that the mood in Berlin has hardened towards Britain this year, especially since Mrs May announced that the country would be leaving the single market and likely ending free movement. The parochialism of Brexit has really worried Berlin. Especially chilling was Mrs May’s remark: “If you believe you’re a citizen of the world, you’re a citizen of nowhere.”
To a German ear, this echoed vocabulary used to demonise Jews and intellectuals. It is a small step from “citizen of nowhere” to “rootless Jew” and “rootless cosmopolitan” — terms used to whip up popular hatred against those deemed unpatriotic."

Ask the head of Audi how many fewer cars he would like to sell us thanks to EU imposed barriers. You would get a very different answer to the one painted in the Times.

We've given you up,teen posts of EU business sectors calling for continued free trade.

    Like lemmings IMHO.

Which is funny, because I very much think of Brexit supporters as lemmings - or "Bremmings", if you will. Absolutely determined to jump over the cliff with absolutely no idea how high it is or what's at the bottom...

That is because there is something rather horrible behind them.

Actually, I was referring to the eu that is going to force all their members into the euro by 2020 and wishes to become one country.

One thing to be said for Germany, they always try to finish what they started.

Doesn't really matter what you bremmings believe you are running from, the result will be the same - a soggy mess at the foot of the cliff...
