It would appear that - in the furore surrounding the GE announcement - the IMF's upgraded forecast (yes, again) for UK economic growth has been overlooked:

    http://news.sky.com/story/imf-raises-forecast-for-uk-economic-growth-to-2-in-2017-10842188

I hadn't overlooked it, just didn't bother to post since they won't believe it anyway.

I guess we can throw the doomsday scenarios that were set up for after we trigger A50 out of the window now. What's the next milestone?

We have given notice on cancelling our gym membership but we're still going to the gym.
Once we stop going to the gym, we will be able to gauge what the effect of not going to the gym will be.

I hope this analogy - for clarification purposes only - was sufficiently straightforward.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

you should be able to predict that pretty easily though, and set yourself an alternative method of fulfilling what the gym did, or accept that you will not have the same results as you did whilst using the gym, really depends on your long term plans

Does it help us answer the question 'if we vote for Brexit what happens?'.

    Not sure it does.
Oh, so you don't think that how the IMF think our economy will perform during the Brexit process and after are relevant?
Are the economic impacts not what has been widely discussed throughout this thread?
Show us where you doubt that those posts answer the question?

my friend used to go the gym and had gym membership.
Now hes bought his own gym business and doing quite well and he doesn't have to pay membership fees and make his own rules up.

If the IMF get their forecasts consistently wrong when Brexit isn't on the horizon I don't see why you'd think new forecasts are any more reliable. Especially as the lack of Brexit clarity can only increase the margin of error further.

Don't be upset; it's not personal. Most of the thread has been off-topic. Not surprising when no-one really has a Scooby Doo what's going to happen.

Ah yes, indeed they do - but which way most frequently pray tell?
They tend towards underestimation re: the UK - which means that whatever forecast they provide for the UK will almost inevitably be better.
    From recent forecasts.

Also - throughout time there have been unforeseen occurrences which render any forecast unreliable.
From natural disasters to unanticipated financial disasters (2008 anyone?).
Brexit provides no greater a challenge than any other unknown.

    First response in red above.

    Who's upset?
    Not me, sorry to disappoint.
Although if you continue avoiding direct answers to direct questions I may become so.

If it's not personal as you suggest, why did you not answer:
"show us where you doubt that those posts answer the question?"
Any post you have made grumbling about relevance to the thread will do.

    You're missing an axis.

    Hhmmm.
What happens when you go to this gym to find out they have removed most of the gym equipment that was there before?
Or if - every time you go before your membership cancellation becomes effective - you are told that more and more of the equipment you are still paying for is out of bounds to you?
