Germany is considering deporting two suspected (not tried) terror suspects both of whom were born in Germany. Hamish and other charlatan Saints would have a field day if this was the UK

Germany will be deporting an Algerian and a Nigerian national who have indeed not been convicted of any terror act, but were caught in possession of Isis propaganda, Islamic State flags and a arsenal of weapons sufficient to do serious damage.

What do YOU think Germany should do with these Algerian and Nigerian citizens, oh saintly Conrad?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

    Deport them.

What would Britain do with people born in Britain? The hand wringers would be all over it like a rash ensuring they remained in Britain and remained entitled to lavish benefits.

One reason I voted Brexit is that I get sick of British liberals insisting we observe the absolute letter of the law in a way no other European nation does. This disadvantages Britain so I'd rather we at least took full responsibility for our own soft touch decisions so we at least cant pass the buck to the EU. At least then we know precisely who to blame for our soft touch benefits enabling culture.

Labour says the Brexit deal must provide the exact same benefits as the SM and CU provide now.

Is this not another gift to the EU negotiators, knowing full well failure to meet Labours tests will result in Labour not voting to support the deal?

I do wish Starmer would actually contribute something positive for once, what a wimpy little snake he is, desperate to keep us in.

Firstly the Tories have a majority and secondly Corbyn has shown himself utterly unable to impose a whip

Agree re Starmer though. These 'six tests' are absurd. Realistically the only way to pass it is to remain in the EU. Joke.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/mar/27/uk-manufacturers-tell-may-no-eu-deal-is-simply-unacceptable 'Chris Williamson, chief business economist at IHS Markit, said pessimism had become more widespread across all age groups and income brackets. “Shortly after the referendum, the older generations and the very poorest families were the exceptions in considering Brexit to be beneficial to the long-term health of the economy. However, even these pockets of the population have now become pessimistic,” he added. “The most marked turnaround is evident among the poorest paid, who have switched from being the most optimistic to now being the most downbeat.” People in Scotland were the most pessimistic, followed by those in the north-east and London'. As I was saying......and it's not even started yet!

It never ceases to amaze me how paid members of a club decide to leave said club thereby stopping payments, and then bleat that they want to retain the same benefits they had as members. What has happened to logic and common sense in this country? It was voted to leave the club, because the UK is so fantastic it can go it alone in a blazing trail of glory. Now let it stop wanting its cake and just get on with eating it. I'm sure the UK can do it.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
  • Meanwhile on the other side of the coin ............
Banks and finance firms have a new spring in their step as Brexit fears have dissipated and the strength of the economy reasserted itself as a driving force boosting business confidence. Building societies, investment managers and insurers are all particularly upbeat as business levels are increasing and profitability is on the up, according to a study from the CBI and PwC, overcoming concerns last year that the EU referendum would undermine growth.

Positive and negative factors in every situation.
Winners and losers if you will.
    As there always are.
  • And this today from CNBC; nothing not already widely known but a few reminders maybe:
Here's how important the UK is to the European Union

    ...

It must really irk to see half the members of this club effectively take out more than they pay in, year on year, and then moan about taking a small number of refugees as migrants.

That sounds more like a broken club, riddled with double standards to me.

Logic; common sense; and EU politics. These are not really terms which belong in the same sentence.

It won't take too much bickering in the A50 negotiations to reveal the partisan interests of member states over the collective EU. Nothing much will happen until the German elections are done with, and out of the way.
