If we vote for Brexit what happens

Fine – if anyone wants to be part of undemocratic, dictatorial superstate, which no citizen will have any say over, let them move to the Continent.
No.
There's no need to move to the Continent under this proposal.
It would allow anyone who wishes so, to apply for and keep all benefits of EU Citizenship.
Reading your rant, I conclude you won't be applying. That's fine. Get over yourself.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
Personally I don't see the problem.
Once we leave, the EU can give me whatever rights they want to but those rights will be secondary to U.K. Legislation in this country.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the proposal.0 -
Offering EU citizenship to everyone in the UK appears a magnanimous gesture.
However, with the EU it's natural to assume there is some ulterior motive. They aren't usually that generous. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

Rather like the situation of re-electing Tusk against the wishes of the Polish Government. The politics aims of the EU are above the wishes of the people it's supposed to represent.0 -

I'd imagine they'll try to dictate that any EU citizen can enter the UK in return – thus continuing with their freedom of movement to all diktat. To me, it's a pretty transparent ploy.
Fine if British citizens have a visa of sorts to travel to the EU – but to get back in the UK, they should have a British passport.0 -
Fine – if anyone wants to be part of undemocratic, dictatorial superstate, which no citizen will have any say over, let them move to the Continent. I think people have unfortunately forgotten (or have never experienced the 'benefits' of) living as part of an empire that is run from the top with no say by the citizens that support it through their hard-earned money. Future generations would learn through bitter experience what living under such a construct would be like, and would hate their ancestors who took them into it, should Britain not leave the EU.It is obvious that there is massive propaganda, issued via various sources, and backed by hugely affluent and powerful people looking after their own interests, to influence British citizens into staying in the EU. Those people are certainly not altruistic, and do not have our country's best interests in mind.Did any of our citizens vote to stir things up in the Ukraine or Serbia (consequently stirring up Russia), or many other political issues, or for the creation of a 'European army', or for many other things that would best left for the citizens of individual countries to decide? Some democracy…0

The Guardian version! Excellent! There is hope yet!0 -
Completely inaccurate description of the EU. It has a Parliament and a Council of Ministers appointed by the member countries.
Evidence? I'm a British citizen. My family history is UK based historically. I have no more respect for the elite in this country than I do for the elite in the EU. There are no laws in this country that the EU has stopped us having power over to change if we wanted. To say otherwise is a lie.
Russian armed forces are operating in a democratically elected independent country, (the Ukraine), a country that is desperate to join the EU. The behaviour of Russia is undemocratic and should be resisted by all reasonable people!
The EU has a toothless so called parliament that has no power to propose legislation and can only suggest revisions on legislation handed down by an unelected commission that no one can vote to get rid of. You think that is democratic?
To suggest that we can change EU legislation is ridiculous. We can't even remove VAT on tampons.0 -

Well I actually read the article in full rather than the first few paragraphs.
And it's fairly clear that this 'plan' has zero credibility or support.
perhaps Mr GVH was feeling a little bit ignored by this whole process and decided to stamp his foot a little bit.
Now he's done that we can all go back to ignoring him again.0 -

So are you saying that there is some sort of raffle and names for MEP are picked from a hat?
That explains how Farage got the job then! :eek:EU expat working in London0
