Of course rather like us with the Scots complaining, they don't get a vote.
It would be funny if the thing that unites the EU is a common dislike of England.
Sort of.
On the contrary, the feeling in Holland is that they want a referendum too with Euroscepticism running around 40%.
Germany certainly dont want us to leave because our economies are similar sized (ok we are slightly smaller but not by much) and they feel a Brexit will leave them paying more.0 -
What has that got to do with anything.
we HAVE negotiated. The deal is what the deal is. We will not being back to the table for more. When you vote to Divorce the party being left will NOT renegotiate.
if brexit win then the EU27 WILL negotiate with the UK about what happens next.
It is totally and utterly absurd to think otherwise.0 -

Ask Turkey whether the EU will renegotiate or not.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

Same on the streets of Luxembourg. Everyone is aware that a Brexit will impact negatively on the rest of the EU so the sentiment is " if they leave (Divorce us) let's make their leaving uncomfortable for them"
I am trying to use calm language but not everyone is very calm about it. Just like any Divorce, it will not be pleasant, on both sides. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
As I understand it, 2/3 of the UK trade with the EU is goods and only 1/3 services and falling
You understand correctly. And just to be clear, our financial service exports to the rest of the world are twice that to the EU.
The EU is important, but with a shrinking percentage of world trade their importance is deminishing year by year.If I don't reply to your post,

That's my view also. If the EU is going to break up then being inside at that moment, isolated to a large extent, thanks to the recent agreement negotiated by Cameron, from the financial implications of the EURO zone, we would be be well placed to shape and join any new grouping which would emerge.
No one can deny the European 'project' is facing huge challenges in the near future and I wouldn't be surprised either if it doesn't survive in its current form.
However, as we're out Schengen and outside any Euro bailout mechanism, we can just wait and see what happens while remaining part of the largest free trade area in the world.
Therefore, I will positively vote to remain. :TDon't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

Except for the handouts we give the EU, any other harm the EU will suffer, will be self inflicted by the malice you seem to endorse.
I find it odd that you support and admire these EU rulers who wish to inflict harm on their own people for no gains.0 -

...
Give that impression to the media and there is no telling where it will end up.
What economists and politicians and expert pundits and commentators do not get is that people are angry. I think some of it is misplaced personally, but there you go.
Stir in a bit of bile towards other European states and you have a perfect mix.
There is a reason Cameron doesn't want Tusk or Merkel or Hollande involved in his Remain campaign. They have no resonance with local people.0
