I have an open mind on that last point smf.

If the sovereignty of Parliament is so important that it is one of the reasons we are leaving the EU, then it also stands to reason that they should have a vote on key decisions such as triggering Art 50. However I also see that the government needs to get on with the business of governing.

What I don't want to see is government riding roughshod over Parliament, it is important to be critiqued and questioned, which is a bit of a problem at the moment given that we don't have a properly functioning opposition.

It's hardly the governments fault that the opposition is useless.
It seems utterly illogical to me to say that the government has to be prevented from doing the tasks that it is elected to do and instead has to involve the very people we are criticising for being incompetent.

a coherent plan from labour would have every chance to reign in the tories wafer thin majority through normal parliamentary process. They haven't got one.

Thank god nobody is really listening to those people any more.

Last nights Question Time panel comprised 1 Leave voter and 4 that voted Remain.

3 of those 4 Remain voters agreed it was time to move on and all put our heads together to make Britain a success going forwards.

The host of Channel 4's Countdown Nick Hewer, voted Remain but advised people should have a cry and a corner and then put it behind them.

The one Remain voter still very much hankering after staying in the EU as far as possible, going over tired old Remain arguments, was the dreadful Shadow Treasury Minister. She's like a child, a starrey eyed sixth former, God forbid her ever in charge of the nations finances, what on earth does she know about enterprise creation?

That is also the job of the Committee system, the Lords, the courts and the much derided MSM.

Let's hope she doesn't have to suffer further by being cared for by white, blonde, blue-eyed nurses from Finland.

You know how lefty 'liberals' argue we will lose workers rights under the Tories?

Well this implies the left feels it lacks the potency and policies to win the next GE.

Question Time audience member says she voted for Brexit at last minute because 'a banana is straight'
“I was voting remain, and at the very last minute I changed my decision and I went to leave,” she explained.
“And the reason is because I go to a supermarket, and a banana is straight. I’m just sick of the silly rules that come out of Europe.”

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Trust a remoaner to take that out of context, watch the show, write down her words and note her full reply was cut short / rushed by the host

In any event I've seen some incredibly drippy Remainer vote reasoning such as 'I want to be able to have holidays in France' and 'I am worried what will happen when we STOP trading with Europe' and even 'I prefer the EU purple coloured passport to the blue'

Also when asked, is that the only reason, she smiled and said, "no, not the only reason".
I believe she was making the point of how farcical the EU had become...

    Makes sense.
British citizens have chosen to give up some of their rights on June 23rd.
EU citizens (who were not given a vote in the referendum) have not.

Still an uncomfortable situation. There is still the worry that they may go home for a holiday and during that time Britain does a Trump and brings in some "special immigration" rules.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
