Happy with how confident I am?

Do you think that not trying to do so is acceptable?
Germany ought to have done what David Cameron proposed which was to help them in the countries around Syria.
No need to let Tunisians, Pakistani's, and any other nationality in when they're not fleeing a war zone, they'll be economic migrants won't they, they should be checked like any other migrant, as I would expect to be checked. Do you think the young impressionable German girls would be holding up "economic migrants welcome" signs if the left hadn't lied? The left politicised the Syrian conflict and the people fleeing it, lumped them in with all the other migrants and called them all refugees. The German government capitulated and failed in its duty to protect its citizens not only from murder but from many other crimes these people commit. Merkel will be remembered for that, Farage is correct on this. As usual you are spectacularly wrong.
I love how none of your argument stands on any solid ground and you continue to defend it, it's becoming like the boomers thread all over again where you just look foolish.
I agree. I don't think Cameron, May et al got enough credit for standing up to very high pressure in the press and from other politicians to do as Germany did and open the doors to all and sundry.
Choosing refugees directly out of the camps so we have some idea who they are and not requiring them to make life threatening sea crossings is eminently sensible. It just takes one jihadist to get through along with thousands of genuine refugees and you've got twelve innocent people dead and scores injured.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Quite how this is difficult to understand I don't know.
What is it about people who are not able to understand such a simple concept?0 -

They probably are buying British companies, With 200 JPY buying you almost £1.40 now, the £ is too weak for the UK to offer much defence against asset stripping and forced mergers.
I presume you are aware that one of the things Brexiters are all mad about it foreign takeovers, so most of your chums won't think this is good news.0 -

More to do with the practicalities of an ageing population. A Germans average age is currently 46.0 -

Point is that smart Japanese businessmen clearly see a prosperous UK post brexit. Somehow I trust their vision more than yours, Hamish, mayo et al.

The only thing you can infer from this is that smart Japanese businessmen (and women) clearly believe that if they buy these companies they will make more money at some point than the acquisitions cost them.
I am fundamentally more interested in the UK as a whole than the financial happiness of the Japanese. People who are buying up our assets due to the pre Christmas price slash that you Brexiteers foisted on us. (A decision that virtually no one in Business, including those bought up companies you are so happy about, actually wants).0 -
