If we vote for Brexit what happens

The other issue that struck me (when watching a Polish advert last night, won't post as it contains swearing in English, but it is common on my Facebook feed) is what will happen with families where part is abroad, part is in UK? Are you proposing that EU nationals should be allowed to visit their family in the UK without visa, or are you suggesting that we make it impossible for hard working families, living in the UK long term to see grandparents of their children in the UK?
This goes for visits generally, not just in this case.
Familial visits for non-EU nationals are not a massive problem.
We've done it many times with my in-laws from Ukraine. You just need to prove beyond reasonable doubt on the first application that they have the intention to return home.
Lets not make issues out of things which are clearly not issues.0 -

And what if you don't want to live in a country where people from Poland have to go through an application process to prove they intend to return home after visiting their grandchildren.
Tbh I am not sure what common ground can ever be found between the Brexit / anti Brexit camps. You, Clapton and your pals find the fact that I want people from other countries to be able to come here as incomprehensible as I find the fact that you don't.0 -
it will be interesting if the MPs treat the referendum result in good faith and vote to immediately invoke article 50.
Any government assertion that they either would or had the power to invoke article 50 in response to a leave vote appear to have been false.article 50 has nothing to do with the terms of leaving or our future trading position : its solely the method of starting the leaving process
The government have associated the two things by promising to discuss their plans in return for parliamentary approval for article 50 to be triggered by the end of March.0 -

Not incomprehensible, not at all. My in-laws have done many times over many years with us footing the bill and helping them to make the application.
Do I find it abhorrent that people from the EU may have to go through the same process we have to go through for the in-laws? No, not one bit. In fact why should they get preferential treatment? Why can my Ukrainian family simply not hop on a plane and live and work in the UK?
I don't believe I'm ill-informed or inexperienced to comment on such a matter having been through it myself with my in-laws. Why do you disagree with the visa application process? It's isn't difficult, it isn't expensive for UK citizens or those who are paid in Euros.
If you or anyone else doesn't want to live in a country where people from the EU have to go through a visa application process and that's what we end up with, then I suggest you emigrate if that's your overriding factor in determining where you want to live.0 -

I would be fine with that.If you or anyone else doesn't want to live in a country where people from the EU have to go through a visa application process and that's what we end up with, then I suggest you emigrate if that's your overriding factor in determining where you want to live.
Or maybe I could be sent to some kind of camp. Thats the kind of thing your sort of politics tends to enact on people who dare to disagree with them.
But keep it up, the more Brexiters bellyache that they aren't getting fascism fast enough, the more people who either didn't vote or voted Leave as a protest, decide its not such a good idea.0 -

My kind of politics?
I didn't vote for fascism, I'd rather we had a libertarian state. Quite the mental gymnastics there to get from me saying I have no problem in seeing people comply with law, to sticking people in camps.
If you're OK with my Ukrainian family not having to go through the visa process, do you think we should allow anyone and everyone to come in without a visa?
(Leaving the EU is a great idea btw.)0 -
Brexo-thug arrested for racially aggravated threats against Gina Miller.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/gina-miller-man-arrested-brexit-legal-challenge-threats-abuse-online-a7460401.html“As part of the same investigation, officers also issued a ‘cease and desist’ notice on December 3 to a 38-year-old man from Fife, Scotland.”
Gosh I should think the police must have their hands full what with containing all that hate crime from Brexiteers and having to counter the same from the Remain people. Remain lost right, so they must be even more violent and unpleasant than the Brexits?

Surprised to see Tricky running with it.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
The naming and shaming was that Amber Rudd suggestion that companies who hire foreigners be named and shamed. I'm sure you knew that though.
So you're conflating different things here. He's saying that as he hires foreigners, who move between UK/EU, he'd need to register for the shame list. AND THEN he's got all of the additional hassles that come with no FoM or customs union; namely restrictions in travel and loads of extra paperwork.
so you are he, are outraged about a proposal that has been (rightly) abandoned0 -

Not really, if it's an overriding factor in determining where you want to live then you should make decisions according to that.
For example, if the UK were ever to adopt Sharia law, I'd leave. It's not disturbing to have principles and stick to them. If RT doesn't want to live in a country where people from Poland cannot come here without requiring a visa, and we end up with that arrangement, surely the logical conclusion would be for RT to emigrate?0
